Hmm, may have to try and plan a visit to the motherland for when they are playing if I can get tickets, although it could prove expensively frustrating if Ian Brown and John Squire remember how much they used to hate each other and it all finishes before it even starts

Re: Stone Roses to reform
I was really into the original Mad-chester thing when it started, and after all the rubbish that happened with the Roses aferwards, a reunion isn't something I want to see. I was disappointed with the second album they did to be honest.
On reunions, I always admired The Clash who never reformed and played together again once they split despite the fact they had no shortage of offers. Don't get me wrong, some bands are ideal for reform - particularly if they have loads of decent back catalogue under their belt which the Roses haven't bar their outstanding debut album and one or two other tracks.

Re: Stone Roses to reform
It would be interesting to see a reunion if they were deciding to go back to the studio and release more material rather than just concerts churning out old tunes. I actually liked the "Second Coming" album, though not as good as the first it did have some very good tunes and is often criminally discarded as a poor effort for reasons I've never understood.
The big question is how long can they stay together before things kick off again which they are sure to do. Squire seems to have a knack for not getting on well with his band mates and while I'm a massive fan more to do with his time in the Seahorses there has to be something in this repeating trend. It will be interesting to see how the dynamic of Brown and Squire works if they reformation does go ahead, control issues is where the problems often seems to sit in many bands and its a issue that seems to dog Squire over the years.
Should be interesting at least while it lasts.

New material is on its way and they're doing at least 2 gigs at Heaton Park (3rd to be announced still) then go on tour.
YES!
YES!
Re: Stone Roses to reform
For the sake of the gig goers, I just hope Ian Brown doesn't behave the way he has at his own gigs - do three songs, then stop the band to abuse the audience, start again. Stop to abuse the audience. Start again.... That would be hugely disappointing if he does that, not to mention pish off the other band members.

Re: Stone Roses to reform
He didn't act like that in Aberdeen. He played a fantastic show that night.
There was friendly banter with the crowd instead of Abuse and he played a good amount of songs including some Roses stuff.

Me I can't wait for it!
For once a reform to get excited about having lived through reforms such as Take That, Boyzone, East 17, 911, Steps!!!
Let's hope The Smiths can work something out.

Yeah I just failed in my quest to get tickets.
Even after they added a 3rd date!

Re: Stone Roses to reform
I did have 6 members of staff where I work all trying for me as well on different sites so I was not going to end up empty handed!
Re: Stone Roses to reform
There were 3 of us trying too.
Doesn't help the server crashed as I was entering the Captcha security code.
After that, I knew it wasn't going to happen.
