John Morrison last day in the WWE

So John Morrison's contract expires on Wednesday, and it has been confirmed that he won't be signing a new contract. His career in WWE started way back in 2007 with MnM debuting and quickly winning the tag team titles, since that day he doesn't seem to have actually progressed.

He struggled when he went into singles competition for the first time, and then seemed to find his most comfortable and most successful role with The Miz in their tag team. It was here that many people believed he could be the next Shawn Michaels, go on to better things, that The Miz was the Marty Jannetty of their tag team.

Yet since they've both entered singles competition, The Miz has gone from strength to strength, his character has evolved and he main evented Wrestlemania and has been a world champion. John Morrison on the other hand has stagnated in the mid-card, in the few main event spots he's had he has looked out of place and despite his good reactions, even in the mid-card he has been jobbed for the most part for the past year or so.

The question has to be asked though. What was John Morrison? Is he yet another name to add to the list of unfulfilled potential in the WWE? Or was he simply not talented enough to achieve more than he did? Or something else?

In my opinion he was a tag team wrestler, and should have been used there. Never strong on the mic, his athleticism in the ring and his popularity amongst fans means he probably should have stuck to tag team wrestling where he seemed most at ease and most entertaining. I think in hindsight, he probably achieved just about what he should have with his talent.

I think he has made a big mistake, unless he quits wrestling for good. Yes, he had a smaller role but he was still getting screen time and ppv's. I feel he was a bland face, and if he turned heel, he would be overshadowed by better heels in the company.

Saying that however, a heel turn and teaming up with Heath Slater as a cocky heel tag team might have worked. He definitely needed a partner.

Why not? They are both fringe players needing a new direction. The tag team division needs more duos. And if it hadn't worked, neither would be in a worse position than what they are now.

Hell, WWE is renowned for doing that. Look at Air Boom. In fact, look at Miz and Morrison when they teamed up.

JoMo and Heath Slater would never work.

Well he needs a tag team partner. Even as a heel, he would not be able to generate heat.

They should scrap the Tag Team Division all together. And Morrison should get rid of his beard.

Shame they didn't reform MNM and brought back Joey who I believe still has something to do with them, I'm sure he's a trainer now. It's a shame but really he's been at his best when apart of a tag team, but always looks like the breakout memeber of each team he has been in.

Who knows how far he could have gone given the write gimmick and storyline. Maybe a change going to TNA might benefit him and would do well in high spots in the X-Division with guys like Aries & Daniels

Problem for him in TNA even in the xdivision is that he'll be bought in as a face opposite heel aries and aries will school him!

If he turns heel it'll just be even more obvious that Aries is better than Jomo in every single way, as is Daniels.

He will get overshadowed again

John Morrison is one of the most bland wrestlers of all time. He got a good gimmick a decent push but just couldn't go anywhere with it.

I would compare him to Shelton but at least Shelton is out of this world good in the ring!

John Morrison would be awful in TNA, there are guys already there that are miles ahead of Morrison. He'd probably be given a gimmick as Robbie's long lost brother of something. He wouldn't even be welcome in any of the indy feds.

It will be intresting to see how they write him out of the storylines. There was a thing with him getting into a limo on z true long island this week and then a clip of Mr Mcmahons limo exploding back in 2007. Surley not the way to write him out ?

I would love to a see a decent sort of finish but i cant really think of anything.

Anyone got any views on how he will leave ?

WWE should release him tomorrow so that he has to face his 90 day no compete clause! That would be hilarious!

I don't think they'll bother writing him out Nick, or maybe have him take a Cobra from Santino!

They will use Brodus Clay to write him out.

Most likely he'll be squashed tomorrow. Probably by Brodus Clay as User Name says.

I'm sure he'll re-sign, best thing he can do is take a couple of months off, comeback at the Rumble and before you know it he'll have a hot feud for Mania

I guess I am firmly in the minority of posters as I believe he is a wasted talent, put it this way. Ziggler was another pretty boy who was great in the ring but couldn't promo to save his life, yet he got paired with a good mouthpiece in Vickie and now is starting to break away whilst looking and more importantly sounding like a future main event player. It looks like they are going to try and repeat the same trick with Swagger. You can't deny that he is a talented guy in the ring and he could of been the high flyer the WWE main event scene is missing right now, a cocky and vain heel with a good mouthpiece as a manager would of seen him get to the top imo.

To be honest, I don't think Ziggler has ever been that bad on the mic, and Vickie certainly isn't there because she's good on the mic. He was paired with Vickie because she draws ridiculous amounts of heat, so hopefully that would rub off onto Dolph.

There was a message on WWE.com that was deleted from Brodus Clay saying he was going to destroy JoMo tonight on Raw

He was great when he did the Dirt Sheet with the Miz. Miz nearly cracked up a few times, but he couldn't take that to being a face and was rather bland. The only thing that he had in his favour was his parkour skills when he was in the ring.

JoMo is a tricky subject, the guy is obviously talented and given the right opportunity could well step into the limelight. On the pro's side he has ability in the ring, is a good looking guy and seams to be over with the live crowds to a certain degree. However on the con's side he has terrible gimmick, can't promo and seams to have a slight attitude problem (in regards to the mania incident). If the wwe wanted to make JoMo a star they could it's thy simple for me, change his look, turn him into an arrogant heel and give him a finisher that's actually believable and could actually do some damage in reality. With these changes and the right push/booking he could become a main event player I honestly believe that. Less talented guys have become world champion in the past as they had the confidence of the company who got behind them, it's pretty obvious that vince doesn't rate JoMo in any way shape or form and will not allow the creative team to put any weight behind this lad. Shame but if john had the right application and attitude earlier in his career ala John cena he could have been a big star.

In regards to tna, he isn't needed or wanted down south, the x division and main event scene are already at capacity and I can't see him being booked anywhere near the way he should be. The best thing for JoMo would be to take three to six months off then return to the wwe with a new attitude and starts again with a clean slate

What did he do at mania? I watched it but can't recall te incident.

Ent - he basically snubbed trish Stratus , she went for a celebratory hug and he walked away , he stood by Snooki all the time , and apparantly , Melina hated her so she got JoMo to hate her as well .

Sounds like Mountain out of molehill stuff.

Hard to believe this time last year he was about to go on a run involving being the best performer for 3 ppvs in a row, a good title match with the Miz - to not being in the company anymore.

He basically was a nightmare for Trish to work with, Melina got it into her head that Trish stole her spot and so got JoMo to basically be a pr1ck to her.

He kept rejecting all her ideas for the match, would barely talk to her and as Ent said he blanked her after the match as well.

Shame really as he has always been called a nice guy by everyone else but he is under the spell of a succubus.

Aye that's a bit different stonee, he was prob a bit peed off at being thrown into a nonsense celebrity diva match and easily led astray by melina.
