WRU Copies the RFU and orders possible world cup winning t-shirts?

After all the stick us English fans got for Nike and the RFU planning ahead and ordering 6 nations grand slam t-shirts, I thought in the interest of balance that I would mention what I saw in a Cardiff supermarket the other day.

I saw a red t-shirt for sale and it said 'TEAM OF 2011, GLORY (in large letters), WALES IN UNION' I didn't know that 4th place in both the 6 nations and world cup was regarded a success?

Surely the WRU didn't make the same mistake and ordered these t-shirts before the results were in and are now selling them on the cheap in a supermarket?

To be fair most sponsors will have arranged for celebratory marketing prior to the end of a tournament - certainly I saw sponsors adverts celbrating NZs win immediately after the game.

The crime Nike committed was to allow the story to leak out.

As to these supposed T-shirts - why not? Wales are proud of their team and if they are willing to buy these T-shirts so be it.

To be fair Wales don't usually get out of their group, and their team performed well despite losing 3 games at the tournament so fair play to them.

Wales love celebrating their 'almost victories' and let's face it, everyone knows that they secured the 'moral' victory in NZ.

Shirts on a market stall and I suppose that genuine Rolex watch was a real bargain at £20

If they're on sale in Tesco, are they WRU liscensed shirts? Probably not, but i'll await the picture with the WRU logo on it. Asda do random Wales shirts too, but they're not WRU produced so yeah...we'll await this picture

Personally I'm upset that I never got to find out if England won the dwarf throwing or not.

At least it would be something.

I haven't seen a Nike video either way, not that you can tell much from those videos.

thank god you have calmed down a bit fella! Just sit back and think of that glorious 4th place finish which were it not for the refs, and events perpetrated by the English 800 years ago would undoubtedly have been a victory in the final.

Wales had a good world cup, and got further than any of the home nations so of course the press are going to get over excited.
If I was a welsh fan, I'd be happy that things are looking promising for them. I don't think Wales have been overrated apart from in some parts of the press. Welsh fans have just got behind their team for playing good rugby and rightly so.

Wales did have a decent world cup, but some of the recent comments from welsh fans on here, you would think they had won the world cup when actually they won just exactly the same as England, Ireland and Scotland eg nowt!

If you want to see actual coat tail hanging I suggest you go back and read some of the Welsh posters comments after the Ireland v Egland 6N game. Truly nauseating stuff as Irelands victory is bizzarely taken away from them and claimed as a 'celtic' one! hahahahaha

It was fine a few months ago.

Actually it seems to have gotten worse SINCE the WC, rather than during.

Hope it doesnt end up like 606, but its heading that way.
