Things money can't buy
contrary to the 'that really grinds my ears' thread, what simple things do you see, experience etc that just bring joy?
Share some here
I'll start with a few:
Hitting all the green lights without stopping.
When not getting what you wanted turns out to be a wonderful, unexpected stroke of luck.
The smell of your home after you have been away for a long time.
Songs that give you goosebumps.
Going from almost 200 emails in my inbox to 5!
Also when you peel an orange in one piece instead of a hundred.

Great topic Sugar... I particularly like hitting a long series of green lights and the smell of home when you return form overseas.
-When a cute baby in a pram smiles at you (happened this morning).
Usually I bring tears or a look of distress!
-When a very friendly dog comes up to you in the park, tongue hanging out and tail wagging... and gives you a quick lick in the nuts, then walks away with that contented look on it's face. If the master/mistress looks embarrassed or tries to apologise I just wave it away and return the dog's smile saying "lovely dog you have there...what's her name?"
-When you put on an old pair of trousers and discover a crisp tenner in your pocket from that night out six months ago.
-After a big night out and you pull a babe. Get in the door, show her where the bathroom is.... then you slip out to the balcony and let one rip into the clean night air. Primed and ready for action now!
-Your team isn't playing so well so you duck out to buy some milk for the morning. When you come back; the game is over and they've somehow managed a miraculous comeback. You then watch the replay pretending not to know what's about to happen.

When your sat at home bored flicking through channel after channel then you suddenly find a film/show you haven't seen for years that brings a big smile to your face .
When your on a night out and that beautiful woman smiling at your mate is actually smiling at you

Smell of fresh cut grass on a warm spring evening.
Sipping an ice cold beer outside after cutting aforementioned grass.
Going mental at your team scoring a goal/try/touchdown or winning points.
Being overchanged.

Those first two are almost an Institution in Australia. Yes, that freshly cut grass smell after you've been toiling on a hot day and the way the beer barely touches the sides.
I also like watching all the birds suddenly appearing on the freshly cut grass and foraging around for tasty bugs, etc.
It's quite a competitive pecking order (from large to small birds) and very funny to watch.
Waking up in another country after a long flight and going downstairs for breakfast and checking out the scene on the streets outside on your first day there.
The randomness of life and the way a certain event or chance encounter can suddenly completely change the situation for the better. Just when things seem to be going stale - a new positive situation crops up and all the past worry seems to evaporate in a blink. There's that wonderful feeling of opportunity being given to you (you begin to see how things happen to other people) and the world seems like a really fair place after all.
