That is what is is what is known as being hoist on your own petard.

And the first person who explains what a petard is and how you can get hoist on one wins the title of His/Her Stickyness...

Petard, an intention to blow someone else up (bomb) or alternatively in this case (amount of work) and gets bitten in the backside by having to now do it yourself.
