Gloucs required run rate heading past 20 - there are somethings even the mighty JB can't do....

JB's influence from the dressing room is clearly ''immense''.

I genuinely can't see Worcs going to Headingley and winning. I think the Mid/Wales/West group was by far the weakest group - Gloucs and Worcs shouldn't have got anywhere near to qualifying.

I reckon the Yorkshire team will be Gale, Jacques, Root, Miller, Bairstow, Ballance, Pyrah, Rafiq, Starc, Asharf and Wardlaw.
I think that top 6 looks very strong with any of them capable of scoring heavy whereas Worcs seem to rely on a slect few. If Yorkshire have a weak point it would be there 5th bowler who will probably be Wardlaw so Worcs should really target him.

Certainly big in terms of relative financial strength. Should be a good match up. We've gone well this year against attacks with pace...which i consider York's attack to have.
Line ups now confirmed on Cricinfo. Yorks have won the toss and will bat.
Yorks:AW Gale*, PA Jaques, JE Root, JM Bairstow†, DA Miller, GS Ballance, RM Pyrah, Azeem Rafiq, AU Rashid, MA Starc, MA Ashraf
Worcs: MM Ali, VS Solanki, PJ Hughes, JG Cameron, DKH Mitchell*, GM Andrew, A Kapil, BJM Scott†, BL D'Oliveira, DS Lucas, JD Shantry

Have you seen us play this year? We've put together some good stuff. People permanently seem to underestimate Worcs, I just hope Yorkshire do too.

You really need Hughes, Moeen or Vikram to get a big score or you will struggle though, whereas Yorkshire have more batting depth but there weakness is definitely their bowling, but they do make up for it with electric fielding. I am hoping Jack Shantry can have a big game as he is a local lad to me, and it is always nice to see them do well!
My predictions are Notts to win (Jimmy Taylor century ) and Worcs, as I think there has to be at least one upset in these quarter finals!

David Miller hits the ball a long, long way! Worcs need to get these two out sharpish, otherwise 200 is on the cards and that is a big chase.

Worcs have looked a little bit clueless with the ball, just giving Root and especially Miller the run of Headingley!

Big target for Worcs to chase however this innings ends.

Re: t20 cup
Hard to argue with a very polished high quality performance from Yorks. We didn't bowl very well in the last five or so, but our batters did well to keep us in it for so long. Cracking knocks from Root and Hughes especially. Extra praise to Root as well for an excellent bit of fielding to get Cameron when he was just looking to really motor.
Good look at the Swalec, Yorks.

Characteristically dignified and perceptive post, Pack.
Like Surrey, you have bigger battles ahead.

Interesting to see how Taylor gets on - will he anchor them to a big score, or maybe just be a tad slower than the ideal scoring rate.....? Or neither....

The answer - a combo of options two and three. He didn't last long, and scored only 10 runs of 15 balls.

Re: t20 cup
Shame we're out, but a valiant display. I think for probably one of the first times this tournament Mitch got his bowling tactics wrong, but that's not detracting from some very good innings from Yorkshire, Root in particular.
Again Hughes came to the party, got some average in this tournament now!

CF - you're a good sport. Bad luck!
Think it's going to be interesting as Hants seek 179. Saw Notts at Guildford in the CB 40 the other week - a very impressive and tightly drilled outfit. Suspect they have enough ....

Notts set a tough but not impossible total for Hants.....
Bad luck CF about yesterday. I guess Somerset really had the players to make them clear favourites - it's mainly when they get to the final that they bottle it.

I think that you and Gloucs in particular were flattered by that Mid/Wales/West group though. I can't see the very best T20 sides - Sussex, Somerset, Hants, Yorks, Notts - coming unstuck against the X-Factorless bowling attack that you have too often. Hope I'm not sounding too harsh.
We have 4 of the best 5 teams on Finals Day which makes for an exciting occasion. At this stage I'm tipping Sussex - I think their batting edges Somerset's at the moment - but in all honesty any one of the four could win.

Yorkshire will have no Mitchell Starc for finals day which is a hige blow. His figures in this year's tourney are outstanding and his death bowling will be sorely missed.

Azeem Rafiq bowled a very good spell last night...he is turning into a very promising off spinner and also he's a good captain in the waiting!

He's a much underrated youngster, and the fact that they trust him to captain shows that he's got a good head on his shoulders. I'd have had him in my 30-man England T20 squad. However, I wonder if the fact that he's behind others in the pecking order goes back to his foul-mouther Twitter rant a few years ago which saw him stripped of the England U19 captaincy. He hasn't even been involved in the Performance squads in the last couple of years.
