Brian Hibbard of the Flying Pickets dies aged 65

Sad to here Brian lost his long battle with prostate cancer yesterday .

The Flying Pickets had a christmas no1 with ' Only You ' in 1983 a single i saved my pocket money to buy .

Brian also appeared in numerous TV shows including Coronation Street , EastEnders , Emmerdale and the film Twin Town .

Being Welsh, I remember Brian as an actor as well as The Flying Pickets frontman. He was in Pobl Y Cwm for a while, and Twin Town. He's in this clip (he plays Dai):

Being an old skool socialist, he never forgot where he came from, and was involved in a few community projects/events in South Wales. And he never got rid of his sideburns. Safe journey Brian.

Was gutted by this. I knew him as Dai from Twin Town first (and loved his character in that), then when my best mate had the afore mentioned Only You as his first dance, I realised he was a singer on that. Was ironic really, that we made a big fuss out of playing it a few times in my local, on the Saturday before he died.
