Hell, missed first half, watching the boxing and cycling.

Half time score.

Laois. 1.9 Meath 0.5.

Five yellow cards dished out. 3 for Laois, 2 for Meath.

Honestly expected Meath to get past Laois at least. Some decent stuff from Laois, Banty to decide future at the royals in the next few days. Feel its time for a change, not really moving forward like we can. We're perfectly able to play productive football but against the Dubs and again against Laois we lack that ability to move in front and convincingly stay there. Today we started well but allowed Laois to control large amounts of the game and waited long periods in between some scores, more than 10mins at one point. Just not good enough, Farrel and big Joe having a good game again.

Good luck to Laois, wonder how they'll get on against a provincial champ.

And their decision making in the last few minutes was dire. They should have been lobbying the high ball in. What the hell use are points when you three points down with 2/3 minutes to go, including injury time.

You know, I wasn't phased by the draw at all. Looking at it, our side of the draw is the hardest path to Sam, but so what.

I have to be confident.

Down Vs Mayo is a real pick-em. Mayo have to improve but they have shown that they can do it.

I was about, just not posting so much these days.

The ultimatum was the TV or the computer on a sunday afternoon.

The Cork game was hugely enjoyable but lacking real quality.

Limerick and Kilkenny look to be well ahead.

Jaysus we made hard work of that. Played about 30 minutes of good hurling in between muck and losing 14 puck outs in a row. Our full back line scares me goign against the likes of Canning, we could easily get eaten alive, out half backs were poor for a lot of the game but it was like our glory days in the last 15. Seán Óg even chipped in with a point, I'd say he has only scored under 5 over his career.

I don't see us getting past Galway we don't win enough ball in the middle of the back and out backline has a tendcny to get cleaned out, our physicality just isn't there yet in a few years maybe. I have always said KK struggle if you run at them. Limerick did that for the first half, struggled to win ball in the second and some poor defending cost them with some nice goals by KK. Cork wouldn't beat KK as they wouldn't get enough ball but Tipp could beat them well. I said a QF wasn't a bad year this season and I stand by it, we could beat Galway but a lot would have to go our way. Still, we are getting a lot of youngsters blooded and have got to a semi without putting a decent half of hurling together yet.

Up the Rebels!!!!!

Kildare scare me, think they could have us.

Dont think so. Given that Down did what approximately 40 other teams failed to do over 10 years there are only two possible reasons.

1. Down are better than the Ulster final score suggests or

2. Tipp were the poorest team to reach this stage of the qualifiers in the last ten years.

Going foward I expect Donegal to finally put this tired Kerry team out of its misery. The Dubs to tank Laois. Cork to beat Kildare with a bit to spare and the Mayo/Down game to be decided on which team decides to show up. If Down did get through I dont think Down would fear the Dubs.

A bit deflated after the game, but I suppose after the superb performance in the first half, it was going to be hard to keep it going..........Limerick just dont have the physicality that KK have, and looking at Walsh and Delaney in the flesh yesterday, they are just awsome.............Richie Hogan really had no need to get sent off, they will miss him...........................

Yes, most teams have been caught by KKs physicality but Limerick in the 1st half and Galway in the Leinster showed that to beat them you have to
1. Run straight at them.
2. Be fast, faster and fastest.

Have to say though, I though KK looked a bit odd to me yesterday. In what way, I don't really know. Maybe the look of invincibility was lacking. Were they holding something back? They were much less physical than usual, at least compared to the league final. I was at that game and they were ferocious, they simply blew Cork away. All over the field they were bullying and intimidating the Cork players, something not seen on camera. There was a lot less hunting in packs yesterday too.

I smell something fishy.

Think its a bit unfair to say Laois are the weakest team left in the draw. Don't see any difference between them, Mayo and Down.

Mayo and Down will be a pickem but I'll go with Down as an Ulsterman and I think Benny just has that extra touch of class in the forward line and I think they have an extra bit of strength through the core.
Have a gut feeling that Kildare might just pull off the upset and its about time they stood up on the big stage. They've got their bad performances out of the way against Meath and Limerick.
Kerry are coming back into form but Donegal are very strong. McGuinness Can choke Kerry out of the game I think but the individual magic in the Kerry team makes me doubt myself. Donegal by a whisker.
Dublin should win with a few points to spare. Hotly contested 1st half with the Dubs just pulling away in the 2nd half for me.

Yeah, one of my friends posted on Facebook (he'd gone to the match) saying that although the Dubs won, they really needed to pull their socks up if they want to retain the Sam. I'm quite concerned actually...and Bernie! What's happening to him?! Erm
