Have to agree with BB. Ferret will beat Gasquet relatively comfortably I think. Djokovic to win in straight sets but Wawrinka may pinch a set. JMDP will have too much fire power for Roddick and I think Tipsy will come through as well but could be tight.

Stosur might take Azarenka out, despite her wobble against Robson.

If Stan the Man serves like a dream during the match he has a chance, provided it's pretty warm. Unfortunately for him he's on Ashe so the chances of causing an upset are minimal.

I fully expect Del Potro to swat Roddick off the court in straight sets. Regardless of Roddick putting his all into the match, he's not a top 10 player anymore and Del Potro most definitely is.

The other 2 matches are closer than the first 2. I think Kohli is exhausted and if Tipsy gets the first set it may well be a long afternoon for the German. As for the other match... Gasquet has talent but not the mental side. I think Ferrer will grind him down as he does. I'll say Ferrer in 4.

Roddick could survive for at least one more match if del P is unfit, although the Argentinian says he's fine.
How do you predict a Gasquet match? The answer is, with great difficulty. One of the few players (Gulbis being another) who could just as easily win a match in straight sets as lose 0-3.
Reckon Azhashrieker is slight favourite against Stosur, but that a good case could bge made out for either player. Bartoli will just wear herself out jumping up and down (just how annoying is that?) between points.

In Cincinnati, Wawrinka did actually offer Fed more resistance than Djokovic did. He has all the weapons to create an upset here, but mentally he has not been tough enough to beat any of the big 4 in Slams (nor in smaller tournaments!)...

As for the women's draw, I'm biased in favour of Stosur due to my liking of Stosur and my disliking of Azarenka. However, if Azarenka were to win I'd like to see her get to the final and meet Serena. That will make very interesting viewing devil

Sharapova v BaRtoli (excuse my spelling at the top) is a difficult one. Sharapova is playing well whereas Bartoli is like Tsonga: Unlikely to cause an upset but if she catches fire she will. I'll say Shazza in straight sets, although I'd like it if she and Azarenka were to get beat, therefore saving my ears in the semi-final.

Tipsy might have the crowd against him for his comments yesterday on Twitter..might be self punishing. Still think he's too strong for Kohli really, so Tipsy in 4.

"Those who compete in the Arthur Ashe Stadium are allowed to request three songs for the stadium’s disc jockey to play. What have they been asking for?

Roger Federer has been requesting David Guetta’s Titanium.

Laura Robson asked for Fleetwood Mac, One Direction and the Backstreet Boys. “I don’t know any 18-year-olds who don’t listen to cheesy music from time to time. I can’t help myself, I love it.”

Andy Murray didn’t ask for anything so Ivan Lendl took upon himself to request Culture Club and Wham.

Serena Williams often asks for Green Day."

I never had Lendl down as a George Michael fan.

prostaff85, you say wawrinka has not had the mental strength to beat top 4 in the slams. He beat Murray in 4 set at US Open a couple of years ago. if i remember correctly he also took Murray to 5 sets in QF of wimbledon a few years ago too and i think was leading in that match.

He definitely has a mental block against Fed, no doubt about it but definitely think he is capable of an upset. I dont see it happening today mind you. Dont think he has played against Nadal all that much at slams, not that i can recall anyway.

Wawrinka has a good strong serve and a lethal backhand, its surprising he has not won more but he is surrounded by some seriously good players

that is cool that the players can request a few songs. Had i been a pro, i would have requested the baywatch theme, then again Return of the Mac would be quality too. Would be funny if somebody requested the Jay Z track.....I got 99 problems but a etc etc !

I suspect they draw the line though on requests Smile

Last thing Djokovic wanted to see was very heavy rain and here it is, although it's either not raining or bucketing down in New York. I remember when I was there, there was a heavy thunderstorm with lightning and my hotel room was on the 20-oddth floor which was disconcerting. The raindrops are near snowglobe sized.

Come on Stosur! Shut that banshee up.

Azarenka 10-0 in matches that have gone the distance this year.
Sharapova 11-0 though.

At 6-5 in the 3rd it's a proper match, which is a turn-up given their totally lop-sided H2H: 6-0 to Azarenka during which Stosur has never taken Azarenka to 3 sets and has even failed to take more than 3 games in a set since 2008.

Come on the defending Champion!

What a shame that having got to a tie-break she immediately went down 3-0 thanks to two mini-breaks - it's tough to get back from that.

Anyway - a decent enough defence, no shame in losing to Azarenka in the QF and I think whoever gets to the final will be 'enjoying' baked goods big time.

gasquet is killing me, he could easily be up 2-0 but will probably lose in straight sets, this was probably his best chance of getting to another slam semi as well

He is the 4th round maestro, sadly he can't move into the top 8 bracket and give him the easier path to a slam QF. Ferrer has certainly been very muggy on serve today.

Ooops - Sharapova is 0-3, 0-40 down already against Bartoli and has won 3 points to her opponent's 16.

The first set has surely gone - she needs to do something quick.
