Re: Tonights action updates/spoilers thread
Vassell stops heffron, I think round 6
A bit of a soft stoppage but the ref was in a hard position as Heffron was out of his feet but didn't hit the canvas so he couldn't be counted out so he had to stop it or let it continue where he could have got really hurt

Good stoppage, Heffron didn't know where he was after two cracking uppercuts. Price next...

Unexpected! Heffron has looked the complete article bar head movement, always interesting an upset.
Every newspaper today I've picked up has coverage of Andrew Flintoffs "journey to becoming a boxer" but not a peep about David Price......disgusting.

Nope. Smart money on Flintoff points? Wouldn't have put him in with someone too dangerous, would they?

I quite often see Ross Murray when I walk my dog. How's that for a celebrity connection.

Not really celebrity and I have actually never met Denton, just close friends with family member.

Skelton doing what he always does, pushes forward and tries to sit on his opponents chest, but it's all over. Towel came in during a combination from Price with Skelton on the ropes. Think the corner have pulled him out before he takes some serious damage as Skelton is a durable fighter.

Price wins by 2nd round KO
Skelton started fast trying to press but price got him hurt and clubbed him to take a knee from body and head attack and Skelton couldn't beat the count

According to him he broke one of his opponents ribs, obviously not sure how true that is. I fancy Freddie to test his chin early, but can also see Freddie shipping a few himself.

Skelton did what he always does, tried to get close to Price and stay there but to be fair Price kept taking half a step back and always managed to create space to work. When his chance to put Skelton away he took it with both hands.

Frank Maloney saying that they're offering £650k, wonder how true it is.

Think that's a good fight for Price, even if it only brings about some American attention.

It's all posturing. The fight can't happen while they are both contracted to different channels. Sad state of affairs really.

Re: Tonights action updates/spoilers thread
Former England captain Andrew Flintoff makes his debut in the ring in Manchester tonight when faces American heavyweight Richard Dawson.
Former footballer Curtis Woodhouse, who made the transition to boxing told Radio 5: "The thing that I found a real eye-opener was the amount of training you have to do to be physically fit. Just the amount of training 'Freddie' will have to do to get through four two-minute rounds will be a real eye-opener for him.
" I was training three times a day. Coming from football, where you start training at half 10 and finish at half 12, I found the increased training very tough."
Interesting insight from Curtis about the differences in training.

Surprised Woodhouse trained at all as a footballer judging by his "performances" for Grimsby.

Re: Tonights action updates/spoilers thread
His right hand is more like a hammer punch in MMA. Dropped in the second by a sneaky left hand as Freddie let his punches go. Dawson showed good agility to avoid the punches from Flintoff and then quickly land the short left hand. Was more off balance than anything though.
