Danny Wallace
I first heard about this guy when he co-wrote "Are YOU Dave Gorman?" which was an amazingly funny and heroic adventure story and I still can't believe they did some of the things they did and went some of the places they went.
Since his first book "Join Me" through to his newest offering which comes out this year "More Awkward Situations for Men", along with his little guidebook "365 Random Acts of Kindness", I've been hooked.
I am a joinee of the karma army. I applied for citizenship of Lovely.
The man is a genius. Does anyone agree?
Check out his appearance on Jonathan Ross for a taste of his brilliance which the crowd really didn't get.

Re: Danny Wallace
I'm more a Gorman than Wallace fan but have read a few of Danny's books too.
Anyone know if the pair of them are still mates, I did once get a tweet back from Gorman to say they didn't see each other much now but didn't pry any further.

Re: Danny Wallace
I got a tweet back from Danny saying much the same.
I really liked Dave Gormans TV stuff but the Googlewhack adventure sounded like the fridge magnet idea(at the end of Are YOU Dave Gorman)which they said "It wouldn't be the same" so they didn't do it.

I always used to read his articles in the free paper "short List" but couldnt stand his writing style.
Dont know why - just didnt like it. I did watch Yes Man with Carey though and enjoyed it!

Re: Danny Wallace
I prefer Dave Gorman but I do like some of Danny Wallace's stuff, Yes Man being my favourite so far!

Re: Danny Wallace
I've read Join me and Yes man and thought that both were a good read with some real laugh out loud moments, but as much as I liked the books I just can't warm to Danny Wallace when he's on the telly. Dave Gorman realy is a genius though, whether he's doing one of his own shows or making an appearance as a guest he never fails to make me laugh

Managed to meet him at a book reading in Cardiff Waterstones. He was witty and a down to earth, genuine guy. My signed copy of "Yes Man" is now one of my prized possesions. He took time to give everyone there, their own special message, IMO that sort of consideration goes a long way.
Seen Dave Gorman do stand up too. A very clever show, bit different to your average stand ups.

I've read all of his books except for his latest and thought they were all very good. My biggest claim to fame is that I know Danny and have a special mention in his book Friends like these. He is a great lad and has more money than me so when we meet he buys the pints. Nice!

Nice Aqua!
I have all of his books & am awaiting his new one coming out - we don't get ShortList in Southampton so I gotta hear how fatherhood is somehow!
Would love to have a pint with the guy, he seems like he's the perfect random pint partener.

Re: Danny Wallace
Having read 'Are You DG?', 'Googlewhack', 'America Unchained' and 'Join Me', I have to say I much prefer Wallace to Gorman.
'Join Me' was my favourite book of those mentioned, and the best parts of 'Are You DG?' were Wallace's contributions.
Gorman is funnier on TV/radio but, for me, Wallace is by far the better writer.
Gorman's America Unchained was a great idea but I felt the book could have been better.

I preffer Danny's books as well, they always put a smile on my face. One of my friends read Yes Man and it had such a profiund effect on his life he decided to say yes to more things. Now he is a teacher in Thailand and his life has never been better.
Nor only do I like his books I'm also a fan of the Mighty Boosh which he produced.

"Seems like a nice guy too."
He may appear to be nice but when he was 4 he threw my teddy bear on the fire. Does that sound like the actions of a nice man?
I still have nightmares about his poor little face bursting into flames

He's grown up now. He has cushions that aren't for bottoms.
