Wales v France: Interesting stats Empty Wales v France: Interesting stats

I didn't clock this till Saturday night. I forgot how rare a Welsh win against France is. Also I think Wales' s away record in recent times is better than their home (as it is vs Ireland).

Facts:

First championship back to back victories since 1975/76
First back to back victories since 1999 (5N and RWC warm up)
Last 3 Wales v France meetings, Wales have scored 1 try in each match. No tries in any match for France.
Last 3 Wales v France meetings, France haven't scored more than 9 points.

There must be an improvement in the Welsh defence somewhere. We always finish 4th after a grandslam (points difference or not). Finishing above 4th would be an achievement in my eyes.

Some may say Wales have the easiest route to getting 4 wins in this championship now. You know it's sods law a different France will turn up against England. Wouldn't surprise me to see Fofana at 12 and a real outside half at 10.
Saying that, this is Scotland's best chance to beat Wales since 2007. They are due a win against us and they just demolished Italy.

Winning the slam is incredibly hard and now only England can do it. Will the iceman lead them to glory? Personally I think this years winner will win on points difference with 4 wins or maybe even 3. With Scotland and Italy doing reasonably well this could be the best six nations ever.

It is certainly as close as many predicted.

I was very surprised at the Scotland result. The scots set piece was great, defence tight and they didn't need to try to creat too much.

They are a real threat to their future opponents. This loss doesn't mean Italy are a bad side. Certainly not in Rome.

15. Hogg
14. Halfpenny
13. BOD
12. Scott
11. Maitland
10. Farrell
9. Youngs

Scots are really putting their hand up. My fav backline so far. I would put Maitland ahead of North as he's worked harder over the first two games.

I wonder whether France being plain awful has skewed a couple of results?

Otherwise no big surprises so far.

I'm confident England will turn France over, put a pretty big score on Italy and then we'll see what happens at the MS.

Top 14 is crippling the national side. There's no familiarity or cohesion now. Michelak playing 9 along side Wilkinson and Giteau so Saint Andre picks him at 10.

He's as bonkers as Lievremont.

I've said it before I'll say it again. Top 14 is benefiting Wales as more youngsters get regional time but the experienced players get to play in a quality league.
