Will other players now copy Ronnie by taking time out?
With the news that Ronnie has decided to come back for this year's World Championship having missed every single tournament this season up until then, will other of the top ageing players now follow Ronnie's example by taking lengthy spells out of the game during a season in order that come the time of the World Championship in April they will be in a fully fresh physical and mental state for a serious crack at winning the world title. For example someone like a Peter Ebdon, John Higgins or a Mark Williams (all of whom have been in the game for over 20 years or so), to could say miss the first half of a new snooker season which traditionally starts around September and start entering in tournaments from say around the time of the Masters in January, so that by April they would have entered 4 main tournaments (Masters, Welsh Open, Haikou Open, China Open) with which a steady build up of match sharpness could be gained peaking in time for the WC in April, assuming of course that defeat doesn't happen in the first round in all of them. Also I wonder what Stephen Hendry must be thinking, as he himself could do the same as O'Sullivan and ask for a direct entry into the World Championship this year but just as a one-off situation in his case of which World Snooker would allow him this.

As I'm sure you are aware they wouldn't qualify for The Masters under that scenario!
