Coverbands
We are going to see some live music in a local pub tomorrow and it got me thinking about live music and the bands / singers i have seen so i started a thread about Live music but then i thought about all the cover bands i have seen over the years and the sometimes odd/funny names they come up with for their acts .
So lets have the weird and wonderful coverbands names you have seen ( and who they were taking off if it's not obvious )
we are going to see The Kings of Leon Experience by the way

Village fayre?!
I remember seeing Oasisn't once. And they really weren't. That was in some Chicago Rock Cafe. In Mansfield.
I think there's a Bon Jovi one called By Jovi too, which raised a grin here.

Re: Coverbands
There is a Marillion tribute band called StillMarillion (a play on the name of the book where the band got their name).
I have also seen a band called Hugh Reed and the Velvet underpants who were surprisingly good!

I remember watching The Clashed, The Jammed and the Clone Roses previously.
I also hear the Rolling Clones are very good.

Re: Coverbands
My brother once told me of a cover band he saw called Beatallica which was a kind of Beatles/Metallica mash up. He said they were pretty good.

Re: Coverbands
I've seen St Pepper and his Lonely Dart Board Band who were pretty good.
My favourite covers band is Hayseed Dixie, they started by covering AC/DC but have branched out to other bands and original material. I'd recommend them to anyone.

Re: Coverbands
Beatallica are alright but after a while the guy doing the hamfisted hetfield impression grates.
By all accounts the Australian Pink Floyd put on shows that Roger Waters has given his approval of, they're as close to the real thing as we'll ever get nowadays.

Re: Coverbands
There's Iron on Maiden who basically play "Live After Death" (no shame in that, it's one of the best live albums ever), Limehouse Lizzy and Twin Lizzy who are pretty much a pick 'em. There's also The Hamsters who do a damn fine job of covering Hendrix. Forgotten the lead guitarist's name but he does love to go walkabout and will happily grap your beer bottle and use it to play slide guitar them hand it back and continue with an amble around the venue.

There's a tribute act (think he's based in Kilmarnock) that performs under the name "Pete Loaf". I'd love it if his wife went under the name "Pat out of Hell".
Also once saw a poster for "Bon Geordie" when I was on a night out in Newcastle.
