Just had a look at the last two seasons in the East and West leagues and the winners drafted 13 &2 and 13 & 1 respectively so happy to be going second. Long wait until my second pick though.

I'm okay with 7, but I figure it is just a little too late to get what I would call one of the "elite" level players as I think there are probably 5 or 6 - your probably picking the top guy of the next level down.

11/14 I like, is a nice spot to draft from, I am near the turn, but sat nicely in a position to perhaps get a steal in the 1st round and a solid player in the 2nd.

My draft positions have been pretty good in the league (based on 1st round only) 4th, 4th and now 2nd. With the ruse if the dual threat QB giving depth in that position my first pick based on value value is like to be whoever is left out of Peterson or Foster.

Being a stats guy I did think about looking at what draft trends people had had... mikey looks to have had it quite good in terms of consistency... i'm getting lower each year as I think I was #1 first time and 5 or 6 last year, before 7 this year.

I don't think the draft order matters that much with a snake draft anyway. Yes I get a top two pick but 12 teams have two picks before I pick again.

Interesting stat:- The teams with the best regular season record in the past two seasons both picked Aaron Rodgers in the first round. A 23-3 record for Rodgers.

Just a reminder that we draft on Sunday at 8pm...

I know most are intending on being there, but even if you are please make sure you have done the following...

Go to My Team > Pre-Draft Rankings > Edit Preferred Positions and select at what point you would allow the CPU to select different positions.

If you do not do this, and either miss the draft or have connection issues on the evening (it's happened in our leagues) the CPU will draft a DST and a Kicker in round 8 and 9 regardless of your draft board. This is because it priorities filling the first team slots over adding to the bench.

Nah, seriously, I think what happened was that it went to a large extent with NFL.com's rankings at the top of the 1st round and also, like Crazy Dave said previously, there's such a huge drop off from the upper echelon of RBs to the 2nd tier ones that if you miss out on one of the top ones then you're going to have to hit it lucky to have any RBs that can score consistently well for you. Once a few went at the top of the 1st round it was panic stations... at least I know that's why I ended up taking Alfred Morris at 10. Was delighted to still find Aaron Rodgers at 19 though. Look at the QBs taken later in the draft though - Brady, Ryan and Griffin didn't go until the 4th. Romo went in the 5th - these guys will be huge contrinuters. There won't be any RBs taken that low will contribute as much as those guys.

Will be really interesting to see the West league results.

I doubt I will pick a QB in the 1st three rounds either
it's still difficult to turn down Rodgers early on though

Got Ryan - Romo - RGIII in my other leagues
Did end up with Carson Palmer in 16 team league though so not all good
