Battle Royale

Has anyone else ever watched this?
Just caught in on Film 4, a Japanese film from the year 2000 in which an entire class are taken to an island with the instructions they have 3 days in which to kill each other and only one of them can win (so in a similar fashion to the Condemned and Running Man).
Hugely violent but quality none the less and very much recommend it.

I've seen it before wasn't exactly my cup of tea, but still thought it was decent. There is a Battle Royale 2 but I've never seen it.

One of my favourite films, Hero.

I only caught a bit of it, where there was a lassie stabbing some dude in the balls before being chased by another lassie wielding a gun.

I saw it a year ago. Battle Royale 2 is rubbish.

I’ve read the review for the 2nd one and it does appear to be shockingly bad.

Both are terrible. Sorry to be the downer but its just so overated because so many of us watched it in our teens with dreams of cutting our classmates throats with a weird boomerang. Watched it again 2 years ago, threw it promptly in the bin

Oh, well that shot me down, I’m 35 and watched it for the first time last week and loved it!

I love the Asia Extreme films, Battle Royale was one of the first ones I watched and it got me hook but I have to agree the second one is pants of the highest order and should be avoided at all cost

Sorry Hero, I did watch it to death during my long hair adolesent rage period maybe thats it. Was the same with Human Traffic, thats gash when you watch it as a responsible sobre person

In my youth I used to love watching all the japanese films with the wires etc that they used to show after The Word on Channel 4 on a Friday night (they also did all the Godzilla films as a series too).
