The Culture Cup round 6
First topic message reminder :
I'm not really a London person. Occasionally Putney or Clapham to see mates or Lords for the cricket.
If Georgian food is anything like Estonian fayre I may give it a miss.
Galted wrote:seanmichaels wrote:Galted wrote:Decided to treat myself to a 3-piece variety meal but the Wrap-It-Up is between work & the KFC so you can probably imagine what happened.
Your Hi-Techs started to squeek?
Probably but I was too hungry to notice. Almost broke into a run as I approached the Wrap-It-Up.
Have you ever been to Tamada by the way? Georgian restaurant off Abbey Road. Went there for my birthday and found no reason to complain.

I have one of those electronic cigarettes. I am currently using willpower flavour in it. Also have a backbone flavoured patch.

Thanks pal. You can have it, its yours.
Very kind of you Tina, Sean's vocabulary must be close to double figures now.
You're very bad tempered this morning, Jeff.
Is there anything you want to talk about?

Not really Tina, have a client coming in later who I don't particularly want to see, but not sure that justifies my grouchiness today.

It must be the lack of ciggies. I gave up 9 years ago last November, Jeff.

Don't know if I've bored you with this before but try reading the Allen Carr book on giving up if your're struggling. I smoked 20+ a day for over 20 years and, come half-four Sunday, will have not smoked for 3 and a half years.

Pipes stink even more than ciggies.
I still smoke the odd cigar now and then, usually when I am drunk, but not cigs. I had a ceremonial burning of a full pack of B&H 9 years ago and have never picked one up since.

You should put the money away and take TSMR somewhere after a few months.

We have not mentioned obscure black heavyweights from the early 20th century yet.

Yeah, a little bit.
I was desperate to continue talking about insects but thought I would come across as a little needy if I jumped all over your segue.

You should have watched Wild Hawaii on one of the cable channels last night Tina.
Showed a millipede killing and eating a cockroach.
Mind you, it was on quite late, and the adrenaline rush might have kept you up into the wee hours.

For what it is worth Tina I enjoyed the Battling Jim Johnson reference, obscure enough to show a level of knowledge beyond the obvious choices but not obscure enough to be just showing off.

I made a spinach and ricotta lasagne last night. Have left overs in the motor but as it is payday I may treat myself to something warm. A bit torn at the moment.

Go for the lasagne, it's tragic when food goes to waste unless it contains onions, liver, pork, tongue or cabbage. If you want a payday treat buy yourself a couple of Crabbies for starters if you're having a session tonight.

Bacon and Brie Pannini in the end - not bad although the bacon to brie ratio could have been more even along the length of the bread.
Picked up 10 cans of tesco's dry cider and a couple of gerhard's for the evening so much to look forward to. Plan to build a bird table for the RSPB's Big Garden Birdwatch tomorrow so will take it steady until I'm done with the circular saw.
