Birthday mix tape Empty Birthday mix tape

Post by Mind the windows Tino. Tue 18 Feb 2014, 4:26 pm

For a bit of fun, who on 606v2 has the best 8 song mix tape using their date of birth?

The idea is, you take your DoB and find out what the number 1 single was on that day.  Then simply add 3 years to it and that is your next song. Keep doing this until you have your own 8 song mix tape.

You can use the following to get the songs:

http://www.everyhit.com/dates/

Mine is as follows;

Abba -  Name of the Game
Barbra Streisand - Woman In Love
Billy Joel - Uptown Girl
Berlin - Take My Breath Away
Lisa Stansfield - All Around The World
Boyz II Men - End Of The Road
Robson & Jerome - I Believe / Up On The Roof
Cher - Believe

Mine starts pretty poorly with Abba and Babs, gets slightly better with Billy Joel and Berlin's soft-rock classic before peaking with Lisa Stansfield.  It then finishes unbelievably badly with Robson and Jerome and Cher.

Can anyone top it?

Why are you so desperate to know when people were born, Tino? Weird behaviour.

Play this mix tape at the birthday party you plan to top yourself at:

1. The Bangles - "Eternal Flame"
2. Right Said Fred - "Deeply Dippy"
3. Take That - "Back For Good"
4. Run DMC vs Jason Nevins - "It's Like That"
5. Emma Bunton - "What Took You So Long"
6. McFly - "Five Colours In Her Hair"
7. The Proclaimers featuring Brian Potter & Andy Pipkin - "(I'm Gonna Be) 500 Miles"
8. Scouting For Girls - "This Ain’t A Love Song"

Come on Feel the Noise –Slade
I Love to Love – Tina Charles
Tragedy – The Bee Gees
The Lion Sleeps Tonight – Tight Fit
You Spin Me Right Round – Dead or Alive
I Should be So Lucky – Kylie
Should I Stay or Should I Go – The Clash
Without You – Mariah Carey

Up until The Clash dragged me towards respectability I was worried I was going to have the campest selection ever. Like the Clash and Slade though so can’t complain.

Mungo Jerry - In the summertime
Slade - Squeeze me please
Elton john and Kiki Dee - Don't go breaking my heart
Tubeway army - are friends electric
Irene cara - Fame
The eurythmics - Missing an Angel
Glenn Medeiros - Nothing is going to change my love for you.. raspberry
Bryan Adams - Everything I do.......

That list is a pile of crud..........

Never heard of Mungo jerry, Tubeway army and only know Slade's bloody awful christmas song...

The Hollies - "I'm Alive"
The Equals - "Baby Come Back"
Middle Of The Road - "Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep"
Charles Aznavour - "She"
Hot Chocolate - "So You Win Again"
Olivia Newton-John & The Electric Light Orchestra - "Xanadu"
Rod Stewart - "Baby Jane"
Madonna - "Papa Don't Preach"

I suppose there's a few average songs in there. Nothing great though.

ABBA - take a chance on me
Joe Dolce - Shaddap you face
Nina - 99 Red Baloons
Ben E King - Stand By Me
Beats International - Dub Be Good to Me
2 Unlimited - No Limits
Oasis - Don't look back in anger

Mine's the equivalent of getting Winona Ryder into the sack and discovering that the bits you want to lick are made of onion.

Dave Edmunds – I Hear You Knockin’
Slade – Merry Xmas Everybody
Showaddywaddy – Under The Moon Of  Love
Pink Floyd – Another Brick In The Wall (Part II)
Renee and Renato – Save Your Love
Whitney Houston – Saving All My Love For You
Cliff Richard – Mistletoe And Wine
Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody / These Are the Days of Our Lives

I'm a bit sad that you haven't seen fit to comment on my Birthday mix tape, Tino, I even introduced it with a well-punctuated sentence (which wasn't requested in the original post) that included mentions of Winona Ryder and onions and included a bit of sexual intrigue.

Dead or Alive are hardly the butchest act in the world either. As an interesting aside, that was Stock Aitken and Waterman's first ever number one. (I take no responsbility for the possibility this fact may not be a fact at all)

I will be completely honest here, I read it last night on my phone and the onion comment nearly made me drop my milk chocolate hob-nob into my cup of tea. I would have L*L but my wife was in the room so I stifled it.

As for your mix tape, badly let down by Cliff Richard.

Thanks, Tino.  A few words can make such a difference to someone's morning.

The Cliff Richard was a bit of an abomination.  I thought of substituting it for something else from round the time but was sure you'd catch me out.  If not you then Rowley or Julius.
