Natwest T20 Blast Fantasy league
Hello there chaps/ladies/Olly
Apologies if this is posted in the wrong place, feel free to move it around to wherever is fit mods. Anyway, just spotted this knocking around on Twitter;
http://fantasy.ecb.co.uk/a/home
I know T20 isn't a favoured format around here but thought it would be fun for us all to pit our wits against each other and see once and for all who knows the most about cricket on this forum(or who is the luckiest, whichever you prefer!) If anyone is interested in getting involved, drop a post on here, get your team picked-I have to say it took me a while to get within the budget- and I'll create a V2 mini league for us to see who comes out on top.
Cheers
Mat
Edit: League code is 12058-1948

My squad is as follows
Batsmen
David Sales - Northamptonshire
Alexei Kervezee - Worcestershire
Josh Cobb - Leicestershire
Jesse Ryder - Essex - Overseas
All rounders
Glenn Maxwell - Hampshire - Overseas
Paul Stirling - Middlesex
Keith Barker - Warwickshire
Wickter keeper
Craig Kieswetter - Somerset
Bowlers
Jamie Overton - Somerset
Tymal Mills - Essex
Liam Plunkett - Yorkshire
Danny Briggs - Hampshire
Gone for some expensive options who should come off like Maxwell/Kieswetter and then filled the team with express pace in the bowlers and some outside punts in the batters

Re: Natwest T20 Blast Fantasy league
The code for the league is: 12058-1948, Olly.
This is my squad:
Batsman
Smith-Surrey
Nash-Sussex
Trescothick-Somerset
Balance-Yorkshire
All Rounders-
Rikki Clarke-Birmingham
Gareth "The Goose" Andrew-Worcestershire
Ashar Zaidi-Sussex
Wicketkeeper
Ned Eckersley-Leicestershire
Bowlers
Saeed Ajmal-Worcestershire
Chris Wood-Hampshire
Stephen Parry-Worcestershire
Moin Ashraf-Yorkshire
A few bargain basement picks in Ashraf and Zaidi, but I've got some strong batting and the other three bowlers are pretty tidy, going on the tried and tested formula that spin picks up a fair amount of wickets.
I wanted Cooke from Glamorgan as my keeper but couldn't afford him so went with Eckersley who I think is quite under-rated.

Seen much of the Worcs games so far Mat? Richie Oliver has made his debut and got 34 (23) and 43 (31). Been smashing it everywhere in league cricket the past few years and at Minor County level. Quality to see these blokes get a chance and take it.

Re: Natwest T20 Blast Fantasy league
No mate, not caught much of the games so far, only the scorecards. He's come in out of nowhere, pretty low in the pecking order for the first class games considering who's come in today for the game with Essex
Going just off his scores, seems like he's going very well for us, one of few batsman who can in that form. It's nice to see us giving guys like him a chance, obviously not got the biggest budget so have to look around and be a bit more creative with our additions.

After a poor defeat against Glamorgan, Hampshire beat Sussex and Middlesex in the space of 3 days. Vince and Briggs the stars.

Re: Natwest T20 Blast Fantasy league
I was a bit late to the party with the Fantasy, missing the first game week, but I'll stick my team in anyway if that's cool!
RE: Rich Oliver, he's apparently on a pay as you play and if he churns out some more knocks like the first couple then he should get plenty of pay days! I've only seen a couple of games live, the Lancs and Notts games, and whilst he visited the crease pretty briefly at Trent Bridge he was very impressive at Old Trafford. One six in particular, off Junaid Khan no less, cleared the temporary stand altogether. He looks a clean striker of the ball with an uncomplicated technique. I wish him all the success in the world!

Re: Natwest T20 Blast Fantasy league
Hampshire beat Essex last night. Was at the Rose Bowl. Quality knock from Vince (as always) and a word on Owais Shah. Made a fielding howler then took 9 balls to score a run. He then played some delightful shots. 6 runs needed to win, Shah on 44, you know the rest....

Re: Natwest T20 Blast Fantasy league
Maxwell joins the Hampshire squad for the first time this year. Squad to face Kent:
Vince, Abbott, Adams, Bates, Briggs, Carberry, Coles, Ervine, Gatting, Maxwell, Shah, Smith, Wheater, Wood.
No idea who will be left out (other than Gatting)
I would go:
Carberry
Vince
Adams
Maxwell
Shah
Smith/Ervine
Bates
Coles
Wood
Abbott
Briggs

Re: Natwest T20 Blast Fantasy league
So Worcester go top (temporarily and on NRR) of the north group after beating Durham by 5 wickets at New Road. It was a gripping game, albeit reduced to 13 overs per side. Ross Whiteley and Gaz Andrew took us home when it seemed like the game had got away from Worcester. They took 19 off John Hastings' last over and 16 off the first four balls of the 13th over, bowled by Rushworth, to seal the win.
