It's a sad day for the world of music.

Gary Moore, the legendary guitarist, has passed away in his sleep.

Yes seems to be confirmed now. When I first heard it, it was only being reported on one website and I hoped it was a hoax, but it seems not to be Crying or Very sad

One of the best guitarists ever and not just the blues that he was best known for.

Very sad day for rock music

Gobsmacked. Thin Lizzy and Moore's solo work a big influence in my younger days. Brilliant talent. Real shame.

Parisien (SP?) Walkways live is one of my all time favourite songs. You can just imagine being there when you hear him hold that one note and then the crowd cheer afterwards - amazing.

I even like his bluesy stuff - the guys melody was awesome. So many guitarist who can play a million notes a minute get the laudits (like Steve Vai) but to me, a great guitarist is someone like Moore who can play beautiful melodies brilliantly.
