A thrilling end to the Shell Houston Open and one that meant Johnson Wagner could not repeat his 2008 heroics and earn another trip to the Masters.  J.B. Holmes came storming through the field with a 64 for low round of the day.  He was a popular pick amongst Fantasy Leaguers with him appearing in nine selections and on several benches too.  He wasn't quite as popular as Matt Kuchar who was picked by nearly everyone; Kuchar slumped to 78 and the worst score.  Three Fantasy Leaguers didn't pick either of these and the duo actually appeared in seven lineups.

Fantasy Leaguers picked seven of the top nine and had another six picks score points.  1GrumpyGolfer, Barragan, and Kouchi had four of their picks score points and Kouchi was one of the two highest finish points scorers.  CJB may only have had two picks score points but he had two of the playoff contenders including the winner.  Both CJB and Kouchi came close but no cigar this time.  BlueCoverman, Boyhyde, Hibbz, Kwinigolfer, LadyPutt, Pedro, and SirBenson all had three picks score.  Boyhyde couldn't close the gap on Pedro and he held on for victory.

Beninho, Davie, EmmDee57, Incontinentia, McLaren, SetupDetermines, Super_Realist, and TheCleaver all had two picks score points; some for good finishes and others for finishing at the bottom of the heap.  RedRage and I'm Never Wrong had one picks score points.  Fifty four places may have separated Phil Mickelson and Rickie Fowler but they had the same scoring worth.  Fowler finished last after a poor weekend.

Davie may have finished in midtable obscurity but his second team would have done the business for him; maybe he needs to rethink his strategy...

A warmup for the Masters and one final opportunity to find a golden Easter egg, scoring an invite to the Masters; it's win or bust in that respect.  Even though it is the last chance saloon it can still be done.  Johnson Wagner was the first in 2008, D.A. Points managed it in 2013, and last year's playoff winner, Matt Jones earned not just a Masters ticket but his maiden PGA Tour win.  It's an event that often produces a playoff, second only to the US Open in that respect on the PGA Tour, and surprisingly has had only back to back winner in Vijay Singh in 2004-05.

Jordan Spieth is still the headliner, he's joined by fellow Top Tenners in Sergio Garcia, and Texas Open winner, Jimmy Walker.  A total of 23 players from the Top 50 are here. Seven former champions from the last 15 years are taking part; the three mentioned before plus Hunter Mahan, Phil Mickelson, Paul Casey, and Robert Allenby.

There are three Categories where you will need pick three players, plus reserve, from each one.  There are bonus points available if you get all of your picks through in any category.  Get all 9 picks through and you get an even bigger bonus.  It's all way down at the bottom in the scoring section if you are interested.

This is a full field with cut event, cut points will be available; see above.

RULES

Picking players: Unless stated, pick a total of 9 players as follows:

Pick 3 players from each category, plus a reserve per category.

Event winner: The person with the most total points at the completion of each event will be declared the winner. In case of a tie, those involved will match-off each picks' final position score in descending order. i.e. Player A's best finish vs. Player B's best finish, Player A's 2nd best finish vs. Player B's 2nd best finish, etc... until one's pick finishes better than the other(s).

If there is a tie after all 9 picks have been matched against each other, those involved will be declared co-winners.

Order of Merit: The person with the most total points at the completion of the season will be declared the Fantasy League Champion. If there is a tie for total points at the completion of the season, those involved will be declared Co-Champions.

Player Withdrawals: If you pick a player who withdraws during a tournament, that player will be eligble for points for all completed rounds and making the cut if they withdraw after the cut. It must be apparent that the player completed their round for them to be eligible for either the low round, worse round, top 5, or top 10 low round scores.  If a player withdraws before starting the tournament then your reserve will be put in that player's place. It is up to you to check that your players are in the starting field.

Holidays / Absences: If you will be absent for an upcoming event (e.g holidays) you may post the numbers on the most recent fantasy league event and the respective tournament(s) that apply.  Example: Pick 3 players and 1 reserve from each category and the relative event number or name: Players 4, 5, and 8, reserve 9 from Category A, players 1, 3, and 7, reserve 5 from Category B, players 1, 2 and 17, reserve 12 from Category C, Event #12.

Failure to submit picks: If you do not submit picks you will be awarded zero points.

Deadlines: Picks must ideally be submitted before the first drive is struck on the first day of the tournament. However, late picks submitted after the tournament has begun must be for players who have yet to start (or are not showing a score on europeantour.com, PGATour.com, etc.), and these will not be valid unless they are seconded by any other league member.

All fantasy league disputes and discrepancies will be considered by the League Judge: LadyPutt. All decisions made by the League Judge are final.

No worries about your second selection. I thought about scoring it in event 9 after the fact but couldn't be arsed to go back and look for the scores. That's the kind of dedication I put into this.

Pedro, I think you might be right in your assertion about your Fantasy League ranking Whistle
