The Culture Cup 2.0
First topic message reminder :
Dear all,
After the runaway success of last year’s Culture Cup it’s about time we had another tournament so welcome to the Culture Cup 2.0.
In order to narrow it down to slightly less than 8 months of gruelling competition, I am only going to do 2 rounds of each (music, film and books) and then a final double point bonus round at the end.
The format will be the usual. I’ll put the questions up, you people PM with your choices and then I’ll put a poll up for the participants and the wider 606v2 community to cast their votes.
Could anyone interested please register their intent to play on this thread and I’ll leave it up till we have enough people to make it worthwhile.
Thanks,
Tino.

Tina can barely run the thing as it is. I'd suggest not over complicating things or confusing him too much.
That is grossly unfair. You quite literally have no idea how much work these things encompass. You're one more insult away from being banned from the competition, Jeff.
Trebs, have you got any decent ideas how to facilitate this system? I'm all ears. We have too many participants to simply have first dibs on a round so I'll need something a bit more robust than that!
C&R, I don't still have the table, but Hero won. You were second I believe but only by about 3 points from memory.

Probably have enough players now as well.
Adam, do you know if Hero wants to try and retain his title? If not, I'll close the entry period and start putting it together.

That'll do now. Enough people to make it worthwhile.

Re: The Culture Cup 2.0
Put all the participants on random.org, there's a list sorter.
So round 1, whoever comes out first gets first pick, second gets second etc.
It could work in the same way where people PM four or five choices they want but it's decided in that order.
Otherwise it's just those who get in first who will win.

Good to see this is coming back Tino, it will keep you out of mischief anyway. Would have signed up but left it to late.
When can we expect it to start? August? or more towards Christmas?

The competition is starting "shortly" according to Tino. So you still have at least 4 days to enter.

Re: The Culture Cup 2.0
That random.org site looks promising. I think that could work. When I put the question up, I could publish the list of who gets first choice and take it from there.
I might demand that people give me 3 choices per question as there are bound to be crossovers. I'll let people know via PM whether their first choice was taken already.
Paul/Azzy/Womble: go on then, I'll let you all sneak in unnoticed.
That is it now though as we have sh*t loads of people.
Adam: you're a cretin.

It's bad enough getting bollocked for spending too much time fraternizing with you "specials" without irking my supervision further by logging on to yet ANOTHER site in order to play a game whether you win nothing but bragging rights over terrorists, sexual deviants, sexual inadequates, alcoholics and f*cking golf enthusiasts

You don't need to log on to another site SerialDAVE. I'll do that and post the list. You just PM me after that.
It's not that hard to understand, even for someone as brain damaged as you. All that headbanging to THE CORRS has really slowed you up.

I'm OLD SCHOOL Sean, besides I've been leaving empty cider cans and cricket bats at the scenes to steer police towards you. If that doesn't work I'll leave pictures of hamptons in bottoms which should make it easier for them to find you.seanmichaels wrote:how about with her violin rather than a hammer? serial killers need a gimmick to stand out from the crowd these days.

Actually, don't worry about it. I'll post it up here and then do the poll in FILMS (at which point you can move it for me) when I have all the picks.

Re: The Culture Cup 2.0
Alright, we are ready - The time is right for the return of the hugely popular 606v2 Culture Cup. This isn’t the old Culture Cup though. No Sir, this is the Culture Cup 2.0. More streamlined, faster paced and supremely organised.
It will run in roughly the same format as before, with me putting up some questions and you people PM’ing me with your choices. The slight difference this time round is the picks you get will be determined by where you come out in a random list.
For example, whomever comes out first (not that sort of coming out, Sean has that nailed already) from a random list generated by www.random.org will get the first pick, second will get second pick etc etc.
You’ll just need to PM me with 3 CHOICES and I’ll let you know which one you got, depending on whether someone further up the list has already chosen it. If your 3 CHOICES are all taken, I’ll ask for another one. Hopefully this will even out the field and stop the quickest posters getting the premium picks.
I’ll put the poll up with peoples picks and this will be open TO ANYONE ON 606v2 WHO WANTS TO VOTE. There won’t be multiple voting so think carefully.
We are going to start with films this year and the question is this: WHAT IS THE BEST FILM WITH NO MORE THAN 2 WORDS IN THE TITLE?
So please PM me with 3 CHOICES AT LEAST. THE MORE THE MERRIER BUT 3 IS THE MINIMUM.
Here is the random list. Don’t worry where you place, just send me your 3 PICKS and I’ll place one of them for you once I have all the nominations. I'll let you know what you got by return PM once all the choices are in.
