Went to visit Julius at his Scotney Castle residence yesterday but, unfortunately, he was too busy thrashing servant girls in the Bamboo Room to grant us an audience. Nice place though, not nearly as ostentatious as I imagine his homes to be.

I suspect you mean the Big Lebowski, which was a Coen Brothers film. Luhrmann did Moulin Rouge, Gatsby, Romeo and Juliet among other films beloved by women, gay men and Adam.

She has some scary chandeliers in the ballroom but she hardly ever has the lights on. The place is always so dark!

King Kong is a great film TLD. Only Casablanca beat it to my vote.
Double Indemnity - Billy Wilder/Raymond Chandler - top class - got no chance with this bunch of philistines.

Can you recommend any good nylon weed barrier mesh for under a lawn? No vehicular traffic on it, only people. I want it to look pristine and be low maintenance.... a notch or two up from a bowling green if possible. Know what I mean?

There's this stuff here made by Boddingtons... have you heard of them?

Also, what's a good species of grass to use. Someone suggested buffalo which is more robust and less susceptible to fungus, dead patches, etc than kikuyu or couch. Is that so?

Never heard of mesh under a lawn to prevent weeds. Depends how you are laying the lawn really, from seed or in rolls of turf.

The most efficient way would be to totally kill all vegetation (with a chemical) then rotovate thoroughly until you create a decent enough tilth which is relatively flat. Then you add you topsoil and roll / rake flat before laying turf. If seeding you'll probably need to use a rake to create grooves in the surface for the seed. With both you need to water a lot until established, also expect you'd need an automatic sprinkling system for overnight watering is summer months.
