Oosterhuis has Alzheimers
Read in yesterday's Golfweek that Peter Oosterhuis has announced that he has Alzheimers. I fondly remember Peter both as a player and, after retiring from competitive golf, as a well informed excellent analyst.
Best wishes to you, Peter and all your family.

Eye,
I posted an article from yesterday's GolfWorld site by Jaime Diaz on my Travelers thread. Well worth reading so I'll give it another airing here:

Echo your sentiments.

Hi Eye,
No, didn't mean it that way!
Lots of love to Oosty from the US media, greatly respected here for his commentaries, even among those who don't have a clue about how important a figure he was to European Golf in the 70's.
Frank Nobilo and IB-F among those with nice appreciations also.

Re: Oosterhuis has Alzheimers
Just lost my Dad to Alzheimers at the end of March. Dad was first diagnosed in February 2008 and the last 3 years were horrendous. It's just such an awful disease, not only for the person suffering but for their family as well.
A terrible tragedy for Oosty and those closest to him, I am sure all British golf fans wish him well in the dark times ahead.
