What was your favourite major of 2015?

The Open for moi.
Defied super_'s expectations of a 254 score. And, if that wasn't enough, produced a compelling finish (as of course did the US Open but that was played on a lousy course, partly "in camera" as far as spectators were concerned).
Masters was a procession (albeit high level) and watched less than 20% of PGA (but once again didn't like the course or set-up).

PGA - liked the course, saw more of it, it felt exciting and held my attention.

The Open for me too, and that's not usually the case. Mainly because of the drama at the finish and the number of top players contending, even if many did fall away on the end.
As Kwini says, the Masters - usually my favourite by some distance - was a precession.
The USPGA was decent in fairness. I never much enjoy the US Open

The US Open was my favourite this year! Craziest finish in a major in quite a while!

The Open cos I could actually watch it (don't have sky sports). Also because of Paul Dunne's performance, and also because of the close finish.

Could have been The Open though I wasn't happy with the overall winner. I'd probably say US Open despite the time difference. I had to watch much of it the next day because of the hours but I thought Chambers Bay was a compelling course. Yes, the greens could have been better but I loved the variety tee to green

Simba made the Masters a non event in terms of a contest.
Simba Scooped up a win at the US open as others faltered. A major is a major regardless of the manner in which it is won but as a spectator I would rather see someone power to victory and not mop up other peoples mess. I suspect many people will have even more issues with the course.
I went to two days of the open (Friday and Monday) so missed a lot of the coverage. But I saw all the play off and ZJ was superb after many great players had a great run at winning.
A masterclass from Day (someone I didn't think had the mental strength to play like that and I still don't buy that he had vertigo) and one of the best opening front nines in the last round of a major I have ever seen. How the other players didn't just loose interest after what day did on the front nine is quite remarkable really.
After all that I am going to vote for the PGA, despite one player posting the lowest score to par ever in a major there were great players performing well and ready to pounce if day dropped even one shot.

Went with the Open. Tend to agree with S_R re. the venue but the competition was excellent this year. Partly down to Spieth's run at the third consecutive leg of the Grand Slam and only just missing it, partly the excellence of the amateurs. Worked out well this year at least.
PGA probably a decent runner up for me. Lovely course and glad that Day won from the front in a shoot-out with Spieth.

Re: What was your favourite major of 2015?
I was left pretty cold by all the majors this year.
I did attend The Open and I was pretty bored, however it was made marginally interesting only when the weather intervened to mix things up a bit. So, unusually for me, I'll say The Open was the best, but only because the weather made it so. Still, of the last half dozen TOC Opens there's only been one which is half decent. Hopefully, they'll not have it there in 5 years as the 150th is in 6, sure the Old Farts in the R&A will see that as significant.

I'm not really a fan of much televised sport really Mac. I like a thrilling tennis match, but sport in general is a bit of a waste of time to watch for me. I'd rather be actually doing something.

Super
I spend a lot of time watching televised sport (golf, f1, football, tennis, motorsport) and playing sport (golf and football), but if I were to remove the portion of my time spent watching sport on tv from my life I would have a lot of time freed up.
What do you do to fill your time when you are not playing sport?

Re: What was your favourite major of 2015?
I spend a lot of time either doing sport or working Mac, for example, 72 holes on a weekend isn't unheard of, I don't generally watch much television. I might watch a couple of hours here and there if a major like The Masters or Ryder Cup is on, but I can't remember the last time I watched a football match and I'd rather watch my hair grow than watch the glorified engineering competition.

Even if you finished work at 7/8 pm (which I doubt given how much free time you have to post on here) you would still have quite a few hours to fill in an evening. You must have some hobbies to fill the time?

I finish about 6 Mac, I walk home, I go for a 10k run, I have my tea, I might go to the range, perhaps some chipping, might wash the car, do the garden, housework, read a book, listen to some music, go to the pub, etc, I didn't say I didn't have time, I simply said I didn't enjoy watching sport by and large.

Re: What was your favourite major of 2015?
I voted PGA, possibly because it's still fresh in the mind. I really wanted Day to win a major, and he delivered an outstanding performance (best of the year?), as did the chasing pack. I liked the course as well, it looked nice and threw up eagle/birdie opportunities as well as double bogies, which makes good entertaining viewing.
The Open was a close second. Any major that finishes with a play off has to be exciting, just wish Day and Spieth had been in it instead of ZJ and Leishman. I thought the weather delays severely hampered the tournament. It made it all very disjointed and the finish was very low key on Monday evening. Also the BBC could have improved coverage by bringing in Andy Townsend and the tactics truck.
Masters was a procession. US Open was fun to watch initially but by Sunday I'd seen enough crazy golf.

I'd usually say the Open but not if its at St Andrews however this year it was different. An interesting Standrews Open!! Can't quite pinpoint whether it was watching Spieths tilt at history, the weather conditions or the exciting finish (wouldn't have been my choice of winner but there you go, softest Open greens in yonks and surprise surprise a renowned wedge player scoops the claret jug)

Ha ha. Andy Townsend's Tactics Truck. Brilliant (the mention of it, not the thing itself - which was fu**ing rubbish).
