Golf Shoes Empty Golf Shoes

Post by raycastleunited Mon 12 Oct 2015, 12:29 pm

Just interested to know what golf shoes you guys are wearing these days, and what you would recommend. Coming into winter, I need a new pair.

My last 5 pairs have all been adidas, going back nearly 10 years. Had some really comfortable and long lasting pairs - powerband and tour 360 LTD - which converted me to the brand. However, I've been a little disappointed with more recent shoes. I got a pair of black adipure's which are their premium model and smartest looking golf shoes I've ever seen (in my opinion). I've had them over 3 years, but they have always been a 2nd pair and I can't have played more than 30 rounds with them, so it's not really right that suddenly they are no longer waterproof.

Would be interesting to hear what people think of the latest adidas boost shoes, and also other brands like footjoy, nike etc.

I've got a couple of pairs of Ecco, and without doubt they've been the most comfortable shoe, not just golf shoes, but any shoe, that I've ever had. Not cheap, but worth every penny.

Agree with super_, Ecco for me. For golf and anything else where they make the appropriate shoe.
Not 100% sure how hard-wearing the golfshoes are. I'm more of a fairweather hacker than most of you all-weather types, but my Ecco's are superb for moi; had my latest pair four years and as comfortable now as the day I bought them..

I've been wearing Footjoys through the summer but last year I bought some black Nike shoes for about 40 quid for winter months and found them very comfortable and warm/dry. Only had them a year (and only wore last winter) so still fairly new but seem to be lasting well so far

These days, I like the Nike "impact" (pretty inexpensive, $80 or so). Most comfortable golf shoe I've worn and enough grip for me. Still have a pair of Ecco shoes as well. Very well made.

I used to be FJ all the way but switched to adidas about 4 years ago, got tour360s for the winter must mostly use adizeros (although I'm getting a bit irritated about continually losing a spike from the same place on the shoe, now on my 3rd (2nd replacement pair). Love those trainer looking ones in the summer, so light and comfortable.

Reading the above I think I'lll keep a look out for ECCO's in any end of season sales though.

I am an Ecco guy. I have even started buying non golfing Eccos. I don't think Ecco are regarded as particularly stylish but that is not much of a consideration for me.

Got a pair of Nike TW 14's earlier on this year. Find them heavy and wouldn't recommend them.

Have a pair of lightweight Nike lunar spikeless and find them very comfy and breathable but perhaps the sole material isn't grippy enough as I seem to slip on very hard ground (summery type links).

Had 2 pairs of Adizero ones I picked up in the sales in 2014. These were comfy and light but I also experienced spike loss and consigned them to the bin of poor design.

Quite fancy trying FJ (simply haven't got round to it yet) and may delve into Ecco as they repeatedly get praise on here whenever the topic comes up, but even end of line prices seem quite high.

Unfortunately true. Typical Scandinavians.

FJ Dryjoys in the winter for me Adidas in the summer, the only golf shoe that looks half decent when you're wearing shorts imo

Lots of praise for ecco. They are pricey though!

I've never been a fan of footjoy. Most of their products look like the kind of shoes I would wear with a suit to work, not the kind I would wear for a 4 hour walk in the park. I'm sure they are good quality, they just don't appear very comfy, and look downright silly with shorts or waterproofs. To be fair they have refreshed their range in the last couple of years because their sales of old boy shoes must have taken an absolute battering.

Are you not tempted by the Adidas Samba golf shoes? A classic trainer turned into golf shoes, what can go wrong.

Always associate an Adidas Samba with an old school Chav.

Always been a FJ user. Tried Ecco spikeless, leaked within 2 weeks, returned them and went back to FJ. Use Icons or Dryjoys Tour in winter and Hydrolite in Summer.

Got some FJ DNA's beginning of the season - £130 (prize money). Noticed that 3 spikes had come out but had walked round on them and fooked the 'ole they screw into. Not impressed. Got some 30 quid oakley trainery jobs off amazon - like wearing slippers (but definitely not waterproof!)

Fj usually. Had some nice Nike ones a few years ago. Got a pair of adizeros from that nice man: Mike Ashley in January sales @ £13.99
Just bought a pair of ecco's, about 3 weeks ago at the discount mall reduced to £65 from £190.
Lovely jubbly.

That is good work setup!

I imagine the adizero shoes are in bargain buckets around the country after many clubs banned them. Great concept poor execution.
