Music Cup 2015 Round 10: Chemicals!

Results from last round...

I get my second winner with ironically the band I was going to pick on the round I won last time (for the body round I was originally going to pick Heart of Glass), as a result I'm back to 2 points behind Adam heading into the last round.
The two way duke out for the top though carries on with Tino getting 9 and Compelling getting 8 points, either are worthy winners due to their consistency each & every round.
Dancingweeman scores a respectable 8 points for his leftfield pick of Martika.

Roses, Small Faces and Mercury Rev for me. Three songs I actually like a lot.

Goddess on a highway is an absolute beaut of a track, stated to the nominee when they picked it that I would have gone for that.

Agree Hero, if I only had one vote it would probably get it which, given how much I love both the Roses and the Small Faces, is one hell of a compliment.

Gonna have to ignore not picking ones I feel people have just shoved in for votes as its a poor selection. Spandau Ballet (it bred the Joey/Carlton chant), Roses (although this song does irritate me in equal measure) and Nirvana.

The banality of these selections is physically painful.

There were a few bands from around that time that were pretty decent but never really reached the heights, Aqualung, Grandaddy, Flaming Lips, Turin Brakes, Gomez etc, think there was a band backlash post Britpop.

Opus 40 is a better track off that album.

Went to see Mercury Rev in Edinburgh in either 1999 or 2000. Very intimate gig, about 50 people max. I was so bloody ill after it though. I think I got cholera or something drinking jock tap water.

This probably explains why I was ill. Not a bad gig, flaming lips in support

2 of the 4 possible title winners are leading the group. Another of the top four is chasing them.
