Well, obviously, Djoko is clear favourite. The law of averages suggests that sooner or later he should have a real stinker of a match, or else lose to someone playing brilliantly, but neither scenario seems to be happening at the moment.
I think Andy will have one eye on the DC final. My prediction is for a Djoko-Fed final (and one that actually gets played this time!).

I thought Kei might get six games but that proved overly optimistic. It really seems to me to be a pretty hopeless tactic to try to just stay with Djoko. You've either got to try to blast him off the court or try to mix it up more by playing slice, slow balls or coming in.
Just slugging it out from the back of the court is just no good at all against him at the moment.

sfp -  I do see the point you're making, but I'm pretty sure if Kei read your post he would say that when the balls are coming at you from Djoko with such pace, accuracy, length, angles, and all-round relentless consistency ....... then it's all you can do to get back as many as possible  - any which way you can !

Stan was able to out-rally him at RG ; and Federer of course has the ability to mix things up, and hence the only guy to score more than one win against him this season. Whether or not Rafa will have enough to outlast him with any regularity next season remains to be seen.

But right now the gap between Novak and every one else seems huge.

For the folks who are at O2 today, how is the security situation?

With due respect to the fallen in Paris, in a way I am glad nothing like Paris happened at a Tennis event.

In these conditions I wouldn't be surprised if Novak doesn't lose a set all week. Even if someone does red line it and take him to a third set, he'll outlast them anyway. Heat or wind is Novak's kryptonite, or Stan in the mood. Otherwise forget it.

He looks imperious.

Missed the match, I would expect Novak to be playing awesome stuff but did Kei seem off at all? Or was Novak just that good?

Novak was good, Kei was about typical of his level this year i.e. decent enough but nothing special.

The big difference was the serve. Novak's was a reliable weapon, Kei's wasn't.

The court looks fairly slow, but Nishikori was able to unload through it a few times. I don't think the likes of Stan and Fed will be totally neutered by it.

I actually think this court will suit Stan very well. He could make a decent challenge this year.

Seem to remember Henman saying in the afternoon session that the court really was very slow.

When a guy like Berdych can wind it up from the baseline and be unable to leave his opponent standing it's crazy.

Federer is just drop-shotting Berdych to death. Berdych needs to take some risks, otherwise he is looking at a possible bagel.

Ok, that was brutal and Fed played some nice stuff, but much as I like to see Federer win I don't like to see the court take all a guys weapons off him.

Berdych had to play without a big forehand, which is like like asking Ivo to play without a serve.

They have to let the daytime crowd see Murray at some point, or they'll get complaints. From that group Ferrer is the least of a draw for the TV audience, hence 2 pm tomorrow for that match.

I had an invite to corporate entertainment for the Tuesday night matches. Turned it down as I'm too busy, seriously.

Federer still has it. His love for the sport shows no signs of diminishing.
