Re: 2016 County Fixtures
There has been a rumour knocking around that counties will be allowed to tweet their first three games of the new season from 3pm today.
Sounds odd and not convinced it's right but we'll find out soon.

Some ''early doors'' taster tweets appearing from the Counties.
Surrey's CC opener is away to Notts beginning on Sunday 10 April whilst our first t20 is away to Essex.

Re: 2016 County Fixtures
Notts at New Road in early April for our first game back in Div 1.
On my pessimists side we could have asked for an easier start.
Edging towards a dangerously more optimistic side Broad and Hales may be getting rested after the t20 world cup which finishes a week before hand.
Either way playing at New Road early season with the ball nibbling around will be a stiff challenge for a top order many of whom are making the step up for the first time. It will be a welcome prospect for T Curran, Dunn, Footit, Dernbach and possibly Meaker though! Having started his career at Notts I'd expect Footit especially to be looking forward to a debut there.

Re: 2016 County Fixtures
So it will start for us in Nottingham ('We'll have a bowl, thanks') in just eighteen weeks and four days - 130 days, if you prefer - on Friday 10 April 2016. I can't wait to see if our triumphant 2015 squad (+M Footitt) can turn it on also in the higher division. If they do, not just Jason Roy should be hearing from the England selectors.

Re: 2016 County Fixtures
To be fair LT can fairly easily counter by listing the below!
1.Lyth
2.Lees
3.Ballance
4.Gale
5.Bairstow
6.Leaning
7.Rashid
8.Bresnan/Willey
9, 10, 11.Pick any 3 of Sidebottom, Brooks, Patterson, Plunkett or 18 year old Matthew Fisher
Add in Middlebrook or Hodd as good county pros and Will Rhodes as another all rounder option.
Not to mention they are yet to sign overseas players as far as I know.
Plus of course a certain Joe Root if by some miracle he gets a chance to play a county game.

That is an impressive Yorks squad! I'm expecting Leaning (among various other Yorks players) to do well next season. Difficult to see any other county winning the championship.

Why would the fixture be in Worcester?

Seen the early fixtures, doubt many captains will need their coins.

Div 1 first round games are at Chester le Street, Rose Bowl, Trent Bridge

From that I'd be willing to bet my mortgage that at least Durham, Notts, Lancs and Yorkshire will be batting second.
