BlueCoverman may have been one of four Fantasy Leaguers to have five picks score points through high finishes but he was powerless to stop the charge of Eyetoldyouso.  Eye had four picks score points but with the top three and a fifth place finish Eye was unstoppable.  Owen10ozzy, Raycastleunited, and SirBenson were the other three to have five points scorers.  AlciG. I'm Never Wrong, and TheCleaver were also had four picks score points.  1GrumpyGolfer, EmmDee57, Hibbz, LadyPutt, SetupDetermines, and Super_Realist all had three picks score points but there was a wide variety in quality.  Beninho, Davie, GolferMartin, Kwinigolfer, McLaren, and Pedro each had two picks score points.

Joakim Lagergren had the round of the day with a 65; that earned points for LadyPutt.

Final Round Low Round (10 points)

A long touted match up is finally here.  Two of the new big three are in action in Abu Dhabi where world number one golden boy Jordan Spieth tees it up alongside Rory McIlroy.  They'll be seeing plenty of each other this week as they are in the same group along with fellow top ten player Rickie Fowler.  The defending champion is Gary Stal who beat McIlroy by one shot in 2015.  Other former winners in the field are Pablo Larrazabal, Robert Rock, and Martin Kaymer.  Kaymer has won the title three times and another multiple winner Paul Casey is joined by Jamie Donaldson and Chris DiMarco on the absentee list.  Donaldson is out due to an ill fated fight with a chainsaw!

There are three Categories where you will need pick three players, plus reserve, from each one.  There are bonus points available if you get all of your picks through in any category.  Get all 9 picks through and you get an even bigger bonus.  It's all way down at the bottom in the scoring section if you are interested.

This is a full field with cut event, cut points will be available; see above.

RULES

Picking players: Unless stated, pick a total of 9 players as follows:

Pick 3 players from each category, plus a reserve per category.

Event winner: The person with the most total points at the completion of each event will be declared the winner. In case of a tie, those involved will match-off each picks' final position score in descending order. i.e. Player A's best finish vs. Player B's best finish, Player A's 2nd best finish vs. Player B's 2nd best finish, etc... until one's pick finishes better than the other(s).

If there is a tie after all 9 picks have been matched against each other, those involved will be declared co-winners.

Player Withdrawals: If you pick a player who withdraws during a tournament, that player will be eligible for points for all completed rounds and making the cut if they withdraw after the cut. It must be apparent that the player completed their round for them to be eligible for either the low round, worse round, top 5, or top 10 low round scores.  If a player withdraws before starting the tournament then your reserve will be put in that player's place. It is up to you to check that your players are in the starting field.

Holidays / Absences: If you will be absent for an upcoming event (e.g holidays) you may post the numbers on the most recent fantasy league event and the respective tournament(s) that apply or PM them to me.  Example: Pick 3 players and 1 reserve from each category and the relative event number or name: Players 4, 5, and 8, reserve 9 from Category A, players 1, 3, and 7, reserve 5 from Category B, players 1, 2 and 17, reserve 12 from Category C, Event #12.

Failure to submit picks: If you do not submit picks you will be awarded zero points.

Deadlines: Picks must ideally be submitted before the first drive is struck on the first day of the tournament.  However, late picks submitted after the tournament has begun must be for players who have yet to start (or are not showing a score on europeantour.com, PGATour.com, etc.), and these will not be valid unless they are seconded by any other league member.

All fantasy league disputes and discrepancies will be considered by the League Judge: LadyPutt. All decisions made by the League Judge are final.

I presume we're doing the PGA event this week, given that Qatar starts on Wednesday for some reason and it's not a very good field?

Are you and Kwini both snowed in or have you missed the worst of it?

We missed it, LP, it went south and east of us, but imagine Shotrock, Plunks and Grumps got shellacked. But my lad lives in Brooklyn and he said subways were working fine today - for him at least. Winter hasn't really started here, and I'm hoping it stays that way.

I did venture outside yesterday afternoon to find snow levels that ranged from a quarter of an inch deep to two feet deep with the vast majority at the higher end of that range. Due to the position of my home and the blowing snow it certainly looked like I lost the driveway coverage lottery compared to my neighbours. It took three hours to dig out; still feeling it now...

Yes LP, PGA Tour event this week as Qatar starts early, I should be able to get Torrey Pines posted this afternoon.

Great win Eyetoldyouso...to follow up a runner up position last time out! A solid top 5 for me after a tied 6th.

Great work as always Grumps!

As a side note...man does Rory need to work on his putting. He could have sewn the event up after the 3rd round if he'd sunk his missed putts between 10-15ft!

Have any of he golf mods ever thought about asking the admins to advertise the fantasy golf on the main 606v2 page or give it a promotion run as a global sticky?

Grumps league is a great asset to the site and probably deserves more attention. Although if higher participation would swamp grumps with work it might not be the best idea.

Grumps has enough work as it is, apart from those people who pick 1,2,3 in every category

A global sticky would make far more sense though than a podcast with a few sunday league footballers

Thanks for the kind words and thoughts but I'm relatively happy enough with how it is at the moment. Keeping up with approximately 60-70 picks each event can be a bit time consuming...

No need for apologies Mac, sometimes I struggle to think of things to say on the reporting side so it can get a little repetitive. I think that would get worse with more folks involved.
