With Jason Day's wire to wire win seven Fantasy Leaguers were looking at beaucoup de points (shout out to Eurovision there) and it was really a battle to see if anyone could challenge Owen10ozzy's lead.  AlciG had four picks score points but it wasn't enough to catch Owen10ozzy who had three picks score.  GolferMartin also had four picks score points but without Day in his selections he was always struggling to play catchup.  BlueCoverman, Eyetoldyouso, Kwinigolfer, LL Cool Nay, McLaren, and SirBenson also had three picks score points; easy to spot the haves and have nots there.  Hibbz, I'm Never Wrong, Raycastleunited, Sand, and SetupDetermines all had two picks left; it's not hard to see the quality difference there either.  Beninho, LadyPutt, Pedro, Super_Realist, and TheCleaver each had one pick score points while the Czech Republic and Germany, I mean Davie and EmmDee57, didn't have any of their picks score points.

Justin Thomas shot 65 for the low round of the day and the runners up spot.

Love it or hate it the Stadium course certainly garners opinion and most of it centres around the shortest hole on the course; the 137 yard par 3 17th.  Often the location of the sudden death playoffs the 17th will this time be part of a three hole playoff comprising of holes 16-18 should the need arise.  Sudden death will resume on the 17th if there is still a tie.

Lots of the top players are in attendance with 46 of the top 50 in the world rankings taking part.  The top 20 are all present and correct with Jason Day leading the way.  The missing players from the top 50 are Charl Schwartzel, Lee Westwood, K.T. Kim, and Thongchai Jaidee.  119 out of 144 players from the top 200 are in attendance cranking up the world ranking points on offer in this event; Bernard Langer is the lowest ranked player at 672 and the only one outside of the top 500.

Rickie Fowler is the defending champion having finished birdie, eagle, birdie, birdie over his last four holes to force his way into a playoff which he eventually won with another birdie of the 17th.  He will be hoping to be the first man to win back to back titles in the 43 years the Players has been run.  There has only been six multiple winners and Jack Nicklaus has come the closest to defending having won it three times in a five year spell.  Hal Sutton, Fred Couples, Steve Elkington, Davis Love-III and Tiger Woods are the other players to have won it more than once.  Elkington has the second shortest time between wins with seven years separating his.  All the others have taken over 10 years to capture a second crown.  Out of those players only Davis Love III is playing.  Other former winners who are in the field are Martin Kaymer, Matt Kuchar, K.J. Choi, Henrik Stenson, Sergio Garcia, Phil Mickelson, and Adam Scott.  Recent missing winners in the last 10 years are Tim Clark and Stephen Ames.

There are three Categories where you will need pick three players, plus reserve, from each one.  There are bonus points available if you get all of your picks through in any category.  Get all 9 picks through and you get an even bigger bonus.  It's all way down at the bottom in the scoring section if you are interested.

This is a full field with cut event, cut points will be available; see above.

RULES

Picking players: Unless stated, pick a total of 9 players as follows:

Pick 3 players from each category, plus a reserve per category.

Event winner: The person with the most total points at the completion of each event will be declared the winner. In case of a tie, those involved will match-off each picks' final position score in descending order. i.e. Player A's best finish vs. Player B's best finish, Player A's 2nd best finish vs. Player B's 2nd best finish, etc... until one's pick finishes better than the other(s).

If there is a tie after all 9 picks have been matched against each other, those involved will be declared co-winners.

Player Withdrawals: If you pick a player who withdraws during a tournament, that player will be eligible for points for all completed rounds and making the cut if they withdraw after the cut. It must be apparent that the player completed their round for them to be eligible for either the low round, worse round, top 5, or top 10 low round scores.  If a player withdraws before starting the tournament then your reserve will be put in that player's place. It is up to you to check that your players are in the starting field.

Holidays / Absences: If you will be absent for an upcoming event (e.g holidays) you may post the numbers on the most recent fantasy league event and the respective tournament(s) that apply or PM them to me.  Example: Pick 3 players and 1 reserve from each category and the relative event number or name: Players 4, 5, and 8, reserve 9 from Category A, players 1, 3, and 7, reserve 5 from Category B, players 1, 2 and 17, reserve 12 from Category C, Event #12.

Failure to submit picks: If you do not submit picks you will be awarded zero points.

Deadlines: Picks must ideally be submitted before the first drive is struck on the first day of the tournament.  However, late picks submitted after the tournament has begun must be for players who have yet to start (or are not showing a score on europeantour.com, PGATour.com, etc.), and these will not be valid unless they are seconded by any other league member.

All fantasy league disputes and discrepancies will be considered by the League Judge: LadyPutt. All decisions made by the League Judge are final.

Well my new policy of picking players guaranteed to make the cut was a failure! Well done Owen. Thanks Grumps

Phew glad to pick up a win finally; plenty of top 5's so nice to get the big one. I'm hoping that puts me on top of the overall league now...mind I imagine my downfall will quickly occur once there.

Thanks Grumps, another dismal effort in a premium-points tournament, but have I got great picks for this week's Byron Nelson . . . . . Oops Doh

I was watching this last night thinking I could be in with a chance with Justin Thomas and Kevin Chappell, as well as Jay Day. Then I came on here and realised those were my picks last week.

Thanks Grumps. Good work as always. Congrats Owen

Ray, I nearly added that sentiment on Justin Thomas when noting his low round of the day and runners up finish. Was thinking of saying the once popular or something like it.

I think I picked Justin Thomas about 5 weeks in a row, as soon as I lost faith he turns it on!

You can guarantee that he'll turn it off once he's back in most lineups
