Re: SURREY VS SUSSEX SHARKS NATWEST T20 BLAST
Thanks, JimBob. About time, mind!
I agree with you about Meaker definitely missing out again. Then I reckon that two of Burns, Foakes and Burke will join him on the bench. My hunch is that it'll be Foakes who plays.
In today's Surrey Ad, Spills suggests that Azhar's calf strain is a bad one. I'm going to a members' forum at the Oval next week and will try to get an update for those on the treatment table.

Davies gone for 3
Roy's been nicking the strike though and already has 35 at the other end.

Re: SURREY VS SUSSEX SHARKS NATWEST T20 BLAST
Very pleasing. Roy near to top form, a decent score from Sanga and, maybe best of all, Bravo with real oomph in the closing overs. Great to have that from Bravo rather than the likes of Wilson and Burns pootling it around for 16 from 4 overs.
Mind you, go steady on the celebrations - Sussex scored 220 odd at Hove in their last t20.

Good start with the ball as well. Sussex 35/2 off 6. They'll need to average more than 2 runs every ball to win from here.

Re: SURREY VS SUSSEX SHARKS NATWEST T20 BLAST
Roy very impressive, very classy hundred (Sussex fan in peace), we're struggling here but not out of it quite yet...
Re: SURREY VS SUSSEX SHARKS NATWEST T20 BLAST
90/2 off 10. The spinners get some tap. Looks like we'll get 4 overs each from Bravo, TC and Sam leaving 8 from a combination of Batty, Ansari and Pillans. The combo not looking too clever atm ....

Feel that 13th over from Ansari will get us the win - got both batsmen who were well set and just a single conceded.

You there Gregers? What was up with Wright tonight? Very slow out the blocks unusual for him

Looked like he was out of sorts, wasn't picking it up like he was the other night. Still recovery from injury
Having said that bravos two overs really killed our chase

Re: SURREY VS SUSSEX SHARKS NATWEST T20 BLAST
Gregers - only followed by being in and out of cricinfo but that 13th over from Ansari seemed to massively tip the game back to Surrey when you were in with a chance. The Pillans/Batty/Ansari combo just about got away with 2/85 off 8 overs. However, without Ansari's golden over, it was a far more worrying 0/84 off 7.

Re: SURREY VS SUSSEX SHARKS NATWEST T20 BLAST
I'd agree that ansaris over won it but it was set up by Bravo, we were always chasing the game after that. Had to attack ansari after that
What is the Surrey view if batty? What does he offer? He's an awful bowler and wasn't impressed by his captaincy either!

Re: SURREY VS SUSSEX SHARKS NATWEST T20 BLAST
Gregers - understood about Bravo, he had a good game - just hope he's one of our signings that stays fit!
Batty's tactical captaincy is ordinary at best but he's a very supportive individual and in turn he appears to have the backing of the team. He's done a lot of good for the Club off the pitch as well. He's normally a pretty canny and streetwise bowler but I accept his figures don't suggest that tonight.
In unhelpful conditions (particularly a cold and damp April), I think Ansari's spin presence is sufficient and that Batty also being in the eleven creates an imbalance. That's the main reason I'm uncomfortable with him skippering. The question then though (with Sanga off to the Caribbean soon) - is who does the job and I'm not sure of the answer.

Hi Jetty - my opinion is that they probably are although we need a bit more time to fully judge, especially in the case of Sam.

Travelling at the time, so didn't catch up with the match until after the finish, but a much needed bit of relief from the gloom of our cc performances. Sounds like a cracking century from Roy A few more would be in order this season!
