SURREY VS SOMERSET ROYAL LONDON CUP
SURREY HAVE NAMED A THIRTEEN MAN SQUAD FOR THE ROYAL LONDON ONE DAY CUP GAME AGAINST SOMERSET AT THE KIA OVAL ON WEDNESDAY.
There is no place in the squad for James Burke this time and the strong rumors about footitt playing have been unfounded.
Jade Dernbach,Ravi Rampaul,Matthew Dunn and Azhar Mahmood remain on the treatment table.
The Surrey squad to play Somerset in the Royal London One Day Cup at the Kia Oval on Wednesday 8th June:
Gareth Batty (capt)
Zafar Ansari
Rory Burns
Sam Curran
Tom Curran
Steven Davies
Ben Foakes
Stuart Meaker
Mathew Pillans
Jason Roy
Kumar Sangakkara
Dominic Sibley
Gary Wilson
sibley has to start so foakes and pillans to miss out for me
over to you chaps

Re: SURREY VS SOMERSET ROYAL LONDON CUP
Thanks, JimBob. Yes, I reckon Sibley will play. It could be Burns though and not Pillans who gets the chop. Can't see Foakes getting a game unless there's a change of approach concerning who keeps - Wilson seems to be the preferred choice for the white ball although I don't agree with it.
As you say, no squad place for Footitt (contrary to what I had heard and said on the general thread). Hope that's just a case of easing him back gently rather than him being crocked again. Notice he didn't play for the seconds today.
Going along tomorrow.

I think it'll be the same 11, with part time bowler Pillans keeping his place unfortunately.
Hope it's a good day for the chaps attending.............beware of counting chickens and last wicket partnerships!

New game going on amongst some of the crowd. Instead of guessing Surrey's final score as usual, they're predicting in what over of Somerset's innings that Surrey will lose the game!!

Re: SURREY VS SOMERSET ROYAL LONDON CUP
Why did we choose to bat first with rain forecast mid afternoon?

...because that way we can only lose by 10 wickets, whereas batting second there's no limit to the number of runs we can lose by.
