lomachenko walters predictions

Hot on the heels of Ward Kovalev, is November's other treat for boxing fans, lomachenko walters. I've always leant to lomachenko in this, in what i'd expect to be a hard fought really good fight. I checked the odds, expecting Lomo to be a warmish favourite but was surprised to see you could get 5:1 on walters. Seems like the bookies have this as a 1 horse race.

Anyone give walters much hope?

Nope! Big strong fighter and good boxer.

But Loma is something special and he is getting better with every fight. The boxer sometimes loses, but I hate to bet against them.

Loma will win a fairly competitive fight on points.

Another great fight milky, the other one I'm on the edge of my seat for is Williams/Patterson

It's a shame Walters has had such a layoff - I expect Loma to look like the best fighter in the world in this one. Unlike Ward vs Kovalev, can't see how this isn't a good fight.

Shame, thought it was on sky. Agree though, as much as everyone has lomo as strong favourite its hard to see how it wouldn't be entertaining and competitive. Ward Kovalev, will be intriguing, tense probably, but most likely only entertaining as a spectacle if kovalev chins him!

Walters has an 8 inch reach advantage!

Surely that's a factor

Walters really is a big man. I'm not quite brave enough to predict an upset, but I think he has a chance. Looking forward to this fight.

Comes across likeable Walters in the interview I watched of him, cricket is his second sport wouldn't mind him pulling off the upset

Yeah an 8 inch reach advantage is quite a thing to have to over come, yes Lomachenko is athletically gifted, but this might turn out tougher than people think

Who is the puncher though? Loma just starched a super featherweight, Walters hasn't even hurt one yet

Haven't watched it yet.

Think it'll be the same as Kov Ward, with Walters trying to find that one punch and Lomo keeping him at bay (will still be a good bout though)

He's ready for twelve but he's up for the ko

Think he'll be coming in around 145 that'll give him a significant size advantage and we know he can crack

It will be a better fight too. Lomachenko has a fantastic punch arsenal. Love watching him move and throw from angles.

I give Walters a big shout Milky - I rate him highly I expect him to give Lomachenko a hard nights work. I'd slightly favour Lomachenko to get the job done but I'm amazed Walters is such a big price.

9:1 on with some bookies, you can get nearly 6:1 on walters. I'm tempted... but its hard to bet on someone when you think the other guy will likely win! Particularly as i think walters might need to win clearly to get the nod. I don't have lomo on the pedestal some have (love his approach though) so I don't see him as unbeatable, walters has to be a live underdog at those odds.

Really excited for this one, two great fights in the space of a week!

I think this fight will be easier on the eye. When the fight was first touted I was for Loma in a big way. I guess I still am, but expect Walters size and reach to give problems.

Lomachenko is probably the best boxer in the world and I hope he puts on a show.

If Lomachenko wins, do you see him calling out Manny at 140? Or what about him vs Crawford?

I know it means he would skip lW, but he has the talent to go straight up.

This should be a much better fight than last week's. Great clash of styles and Walters will be in there pitching. I expect him to be a beast early, fade late. I think I'd bet on Loma getting him out of there late.

How many genuine featherweights did he hurt, his reputation as a puncher is based on stopping Donaire and Vic Dar, who both started down at flyweight.

He's got skills though

He may have made his name with vic dar and donaire, but he's a career feather with an 80% ko record. Lomo has KO'd 100% of the super-feather's he's fought, that's 1. And 50% of the feather's... a higher level of fighter but it's hardly Julian jackson.

I think we can say they're both pretty heavy handed. It'll likely be down to who lands more and who can take more rather than who hits hardest.

I think it will end on points. I'm expecting a couple of knock downs and some late drama.

This fight Is going to be explosive.

Also, Walters was offered this fight at least a year or two ago. He said no, stating that he would have to knock Loma out to win, (knowing he cannot outbox Loma). Loma even offered him 300K of his own purse but Walters still refused.

Food for thought

First couple of rounds will be the toughest part of the fight for Loma.
Then he will start to figure Walters out, find his rhythm and then it should be Loma all the way.

He said he would have to knock him out because he wouldn't get a decision against the glamour boy. Lomo offered Walters extra money IF Walters won.

He's taken the fight now, and after one of lomo's most impressive performances, why previous negotiations broke down is immaterial really.

Hmmmn, turns out it was the odds on lomo that were generous.  Whilst he was obviously outclassed, Walters is not going to live down a 'no mas' moment.

As for lomo, well when you dominate your toughest opponent to date in such a fashion, you have to hand it the guy.

Supreme skill from Lomo though. His footwork is simply unreal. Cant say he was doing any really physical damage. Walters just gave up through sheer frustration and realised he could do nothing in return

I don't want to see Loma vs Manny at 140.

Either Pacquiao destroys him (potentially wrecks a great career) or karma happens and Loma puts a beating on a drained Manny.

Lomachenko is probably best boxer in the planet. Not yet in resume, but talent. He will go very far. I would love to see him fight Crawford down the line. It will most likely happen.

Walters never wanted this fight, he took ages agreeing to terms and wanted to get the most amount of money, maybe he thought that there was no way he could win before he even started training for this

He tried to box his way in but the class between the 2 was getting further and further apart and Lomachenko was now walking him down

Think he shouldve carried on for the fans but his head wasn't in it and Lomachenko was just too good

Strange fight and anticlimactic but how good is Lomachenko, just a unbelievable fighter

Heard rumours of Pacquiao fight which I think should wait a little bit as lomachenko isn't a big SFW and manny while could easily make 140 is full muscle and has too much power even still

Would like to see Manny vs Crawford at 140 and Lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia at 135, think Mikey has a world title lined up soon, and see where to go from there
