Yeah, the wheels stopped turning and then predictably one fell off.

MDV talks about ''building pressure by drying up the runs''. That's exactly what's happened here. Good bowling? Poor batting? I don't know but would guess both.

The thing is we pretty much predicted this would happen - spinners on and scoring rate struggles even to reach one an over - and wickets fall.  Last 10 overs FOUR runs and one wicket.  Surely that is the way to make spinners feel on top of the world!

Tiny consolation is that we prevent Lancs getting a 3rd bowling point - you never know what might be significant come late September.

 Tbf Chichester- I think pretty much every Surrey poster either had the same bad feeling - or would have had they been around to comment!

Surrey following on.  It's very gloomy down in West Kent - literally as well as metaphorically - so there must be possibility of bad light curtailing play.

Yep, very poor day. Not there today but I got the definite impression that we put a lot of pressure on ourselves after lunch.

Perhaps something of a reality check after last week's celebrations.

Some players need to up their game. Tomorrow would be a good time to start.

I actually don't mind following on in this case - gives our batsmen (well middle to lower order) a chance to put their dreadful day today straight tomorrow and hopefully means the bowlers get another day off. Sibley needs a good day
