Re: Canelo vs Golovkin, September 16
I'm implying nothing. If Canelo's muscles make him a cheat what's the difference with GGG being one, especially with Russia's reputation.
I don't know if GGG is a drugs cheat. There is no evidence.

What does that have to do with anything???
If you can read between the lines, you know what Adam is implying
Basically singling out a country and calling them cheats
Remind me what country has been the centre of the biggest doping scandal since Balco?
There's no evidence of either being guilty of doping but I don't see you jumping to Alvarez's defence?
Making assumptions again
GGG isn't even living in Russia is he?
You have been brainwashed by the media in to thinking Russians are evil
Bet we are doping just as much as they are

Re: Canelo vs Golovkin, September 16
What sort of argument is that?
There was strong evidence of state run doping in Russia, there have been numerous Olympians stripped of medals and there's been one British martial artist stripped in the Commonwealth games. I'm struggling to see how that is brainwashing, those are facts not assumptions and something you seem unwilling to listen to. You accuse me of making assumptions then finish of with a baseless statement that I doubt you have any evidence to back up?
At no point have I accuses Golovkin of doping but I find it strange that Dylan is willing to throw accusations at Alvarez but not him.

I would agree with you BF if not for the fact that the Russian Government has been implicated (and found guilty) of full on doping. Hencforth why (esp at the moment) Russian sportstars are looked at with suspician. (If the same happened anywhere else, we'd be mentioning about them as well (a bit like how we all say it's dodgy reffing in ?Germany and how england is getting the same.)
As for Dylan, he makes me laugh, bit like me at work going mental at everything for no real reason :-)

GGG struggle with Jacobs has opened this door for him...He is 35 and at 160 I imagine it is more of a problem than at the heavier weights..
Question is did he just have a bad night last time ??...Or is he showing his age...Saunders seems to think so and let us hope he is right.
Don't mind GGG just his awful fans...Come on Canelo best him up.

He is put on a pedestal for beating low standard opponents. Granted he did it quite impressively, but he hasn't challenged himself other than Jacobs. He got the win, but I didn't see a great fighter.
Was it an off night? Possibly, but I have a feeling we will find out he is a tad overrated.

Agreed, they're unable to accept any criticism of him, apparently he gets hit on purpose.

I'm putting this out here.
If Golovkin beats the stuffing out of Canelo and wins in style, or on points easily, he gets huge Credit from me.
If he scrapes by he will get some credit as a good fighter and nothing more.
If he loses? I will give his fans the stick they deserve. You guys have created a monster. Lets see if he lives up to it.

I'm putting this out there.. Before Canelo signed for this fight he lost to an old super feather in Floyd and got his arse handed to him by Lara.
I don't believe it but GGG fans that no sack all about Boxing believe it.
Now he is Harry Greb.

100% spot on. Months will be spent with people fiercely arguing their point as though it is gospel and anybody not sharing the same opinion is a hater or fanboy. Then post fight out will come the excuses

Lots of people putting things out here and there. It's like watching an episode of Fireman Sam with my two year old... but with a dumbed-down story line.
It's the fight everyone's been demanding, at middleweight, no catchweight. Let's just hope it's a great fight with a clear winner.

Seriously though - should be a great fight - I cant help think GGG batters Canelo.
Canelo is a heavy fighter but he is short, smaller reach.....GGG will be able to tear it up with him.....Canelo isnt a boxer like Jacobs....he likes to counter and fight in the pocket.....Im pretty certain this fight will be similar to GGG vs Lemiuex.....GGG to use the jabs to calm Canelo down and push him back, then if/when Canelo starts to try and fight on the inside or counter punch, GGG will find him and finish him.
Cant see Canelo stopping GGG, he could, could, box to absolute perfection and i mean perfection and he may hold him off.
I think GGG has some bad blood here and will want to literally tear into Canelo.
But like Truss says, how good is Canelo? Fought at catchweights for past how ever many fights against an old cotto....lost in my eyes to Lara....outclassed by Floyd (no shame there but he was super old)......got wobbled a few weights down by Cottos brother....beat a pants fighter in Chavez.....beat Liam smith?! Matthew Hatton? His resume could just about be paired with GGG bar Floyd and maybe Cotto.
Awww well, either way im hoping for a cracking fight....and i think it will be.

As MM8 says, it's going to be a cracking fight and really we should be happy that it's finally happened, unfortuantely can see a Ward/Kov type situation happening where it's close and the 'super' fans on either side aren't happy. (No i don't want to discuss it again btw)

Re: Canelo vs Golovkin, September 16
I agree with MM - I think GGG will want to prove a point after being d!cked about by Canelo for so long. I also agree that Canelo has picked and chosen the weights he fights at to inconvenience his opponents as much as possible. GGG didn't look at his best in his last fight though - it could of course have been because he wanted to offer Canelo a bit of a carrot so he'd actually sign for it.
I really hope that whatever the outcome of the fight, it isn't a contentious points win for the wrong person. I have a feeling that GGG will be too good, too big, too brutal. A battered, bruised and eventually out-fought and out-punched Canelo will make it to the final bell, but it's likely that GGG should prevail, and by quite a margin.
So that's a wide UD for Canelo, then. Cynical? Moi??

GGG has many talents, he knocks out heavyweights with jabs in sparring, wrestles aligators as a hobby, takes his opponents best shots in fights just to show how great his chin is... and, when he needs a poor performance to entice future opponents to sign, he engineers a razor thin points decision.
He's such a gambler he's prepared to risk a loss at the hands of fickle judges, and the likelihood that the big fight goes up in smoke. He'll probably take his purse for the canelo fight (after he's knocked the fool out in a couple of rounds) walk into a casino and put it all on black. What a guy, ya gotta love him.

Has anybody seen the Canelo v GGG faceoff?
GGG looks like he borrowed Wlads lifts!
Seriously though, he looks big next to Canelo. Canelo is chunky and walks around heavier, but GGG is for sure the stronger guy.
Really looking forward to this fight now. Was leaning to Canelo, but after the stare off, think GGG is too big! He will stop Canelo

Just about comment myself Adam. The size difference in terms of height and reach will seriously hinder Canelos chances of victory. Can see GGG using his jab to soften up and eventually wear down Saul mid to late. Too big and in my eyes frankly too good.
