European Tour website
Anyone else finding the new site a complete pain in the ass?
Whilst it look more flashy it seems really clunky. And I can't find where the weekly podcast has gone, if indeed they still do one.
I had a shortcut to the old site on my mobile but when I click on this I just get a screen that says that there is a new app available and to visit the App Store to download this. But I can't find a new app!!!

Re: European Tour website
Humpy,
It's so awful they even sent out an email on their European Tour Newsletter distribution list apologising for "serious technical issues".
I'd say they're continuing, plus navigation is dismal, the live scoring is poorly formatted (if indeed you can get it to work), and loads of other appealing features have gone awol.
Clearly not designed by anyone remotely interested or familiar with golf.
Coming to something when one has to use golfchannel.com for "live" (not really) scoring.

100% agree humpy. It's a scandal. It shocks me more than watching a stoned Woods.

Re: European Tour website
It's a real pita. I occasionally want to look at the scores, and to see who is leading etc (like at Wentworth last weekend).
But it seems to be almost impossible to do that from a phone. It's slow to load, full of adverts, and the scores (when they do appear) seem to be so far down the page that I wonder if most people just give up.
I don't understand how they could launch such a poor website. Didn't anybody test it?

Re: European Tour website
This new web rubbish has the name Keith Pelley written all over it. Instead of any substance we are only getting a lot of poorly designed hot air. A cry of inability. It's way beyond time the ET dumps this noisy guy with the weird glasses. Before he has ruined all of the highest level professional golf in Europe or turned it into some sort of World Wrestling Federation extravaganza.
The high and mighty of Wentworth find themselves in a hurry a new black prince mark2.0 if they seek any survival alongside USPGA and WGC and still be taken seriously by real golf fans.

Several features of previous site completely absent.
Can't even find the official result w/prizemoney for the Nordea. Hopeless.

Perhaps we should all start bombarding this email address:
website.feedback@europeantour.com
I agree - it's a load of rubbish and not a patch on the old website which was easy to navigate and had lots of features which appear to be absent from this new incarnation (or should that be abomination?).

Re: European Tour website
I doubt it JAS. It's most likely managed and run through tons of overpaid UK PR agencies and web bureaus.

They have improved the website from being scandalous to being terrible - but the leaderboard is still hopeless.

Re: European Tour website
I enter the European Tour Fantasy League and as I always forget who I've chosen for each event I thought I'd go onto the leaderboard and favourite by picked players. But it only allows you to pick 1 player!! Pick another player and the first one doesn't become a favourite anymore!!
What a crock of s***e!!!!

Re: European Tour website
Humpy,
It seems like it's crashed, hasn't updated for quarter of an hour and now I can't get back in!
What a fiasco!!
PS: Now it's coming up with half-hour-old leaderboard.

Re: European Tour website
I'm no expert on websites but it seems to be that they are trying to include too much content on each page hence it takes so long to open. Does anybody know if the ET has made any official comment about it's website?

Re: European Tour website
It's a big mess (today). Couldn't even access the leaderboard. And now I can't watch the highlights or read the damn head line article. Went to golfchannel.com

Re: European Tour website
I updated the app a couple of weeks ago and before I could access it I had to choose the three things I love most about golf. None of the options were things that I love about golf but it wouldn't let me continue without choosing so I ended up picking trick shots and two others I can't even remember. No doubt I'll get bombarded with relevant content from now on.
What I really want from a golf tour app is a leaderboard (with tee times), schedule, points list, and maybe a shot tracker and that's it.
Yesterday the app leaderboard was about two holes behind the TV which is pretty poor.

Good news, Hope our little bit helped. Thanks Smithers, but can't imagine why they wouldn't have given it a test drive first.

Whole thing was frankly amateur .
Amazed it took that long to make a decision to dump the new site.

Re: European Tour website
A bit of sense at last. I was relying on US sites to follow the European Tour. New design was abysmal.
