Burnett v Zhakiyanov *SPOILERS* Empty Burnett v Zhakiyanov *SPOILERS*

Congratulations to Ryan Burnett, 17th pro fight and now WBA & IBF Bantamweight champion after unanimous points win, very impressive. Tough rugged fight not for the purists I had Burnett reasonably wide albeit alot of the rounds were close and very competitive but for me he did the cleaner work.

He must be flying up the UK pound for pound rankings?

He was taken to hospital post fight which was apparently "as a precaution", hopefully and most importantly this is correct and there are no issues. Assuming all is well a longer than usual break seems sensible before his next fight.

Providing McDonnell gets past Solis again I reckon that fight would make sense; a unification of the WBA title and a big domestic showdown, gets through that and he'll be a big player.

I think Burnett beats Butler and McDonnell, he also has an IBF Mandatory In Rodriguez which could be tricky, think that will happen first while Butler and McDonnell face each other

I thought it was quite tight but Burnett definitely did enough to win

But impressive to unify titles and in front of a crowd like that

Personally felt that all the cards we far to wide, which detracted slightly from the result. I thought Burnett just done enough to win but after the cards, got the impression just seeing out the 12 rounds was going to be enough to win either way.
