Some interesting fights happened at the weekend. Here are the results

WBSS Cruiser QF- IBF Cruiserweight

Murat Gassiev (25-0 18KOs) KO3 Krzysztof Wlodarczyk (53-4-1 37KOs)- Gassiev retains IBF crown and will unify against Dorticos in the Semis following impressive KO win over former champ.

WBA Super Featherweight

Alberto Machado (19-0 16KOs) KO8 Jezreel Corrales (22-2 8KOs)- Corrales loses the title on scales and therefore the title is only on the line for Machado. Roach trained Machado goes down in the 5th but gets back up to stop the former champion in 8.

Tokyo Triple Header

WBC Light FLyweight

Ken Shiro (11-0 5KOs) MD12 Pedro Guevara (30-3-1 17KOs)- Shiro struggles in first defence but comes through to beat former champion Guevara in a tight contest.

WBC Flyweight

Daigo Higa (14-0 14KOs) TKO7 Thomas Masson (17-4-1 5KOs)- First defence for hard punching Higa and he improves his perfect KO record with dominant win. Andrew Selby could be next for this pig punching champion.

WBA 'Regular' Middleweight

Ryota Murata (13-1 10KOs) RTD7 Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam (36-3 21KOs)- Murata avenges controversial first loss of his career against N'Jikam with dominating display.

Two non title fights of note:

Josh Warrington (26-0 6KOs) TKO10 Dennis Ceylan (18-1-2 8KOs)- Excellent stoppage win for Warrington who should now get a shot at Lee Selby for the IBF Featherweight title.

Demetrius Andrade (25-0 16KOs) UD12 Alantez Fox (23-1-1 11KOs)- Former Light Middle Champ Andrade has stepped up to Middle and won his first fight against previously undefeated Fox. Andrade down in 7th

Didn’t catch any of these so might try to catch up on a bit of them  but did see replay of Gassiev fight. Usyk still strong favourite to win it outright whose fight with Briedis should be interesting as the Latvian is better than he looks and could make it tricky. Gassiev/Dorticos should be a good scrap and looking forward to watch Andrade’s progression at a weight he’s probably more suited to. Could he be the one to one day relieve Golovkin of his titles?

Obviously Andrade against Charlo would be a good fight

Gassiev KO was sensational but the Polish fellow was clearly why past his prime. I think Gassiev may well KO Usyk if they meet
