I know you (Newcastle) and West Ham have at least spoken to Sturaro’s people.
As every week of summer has had so far, we’re talking to Wilshere and still telling him he will have to cut his wages and look at performance based bonuses

Haven't seen enough of Sturaro, to know if it would be a worthwhile addition. He's been happy to sit at Juve for a long time (60 odd games in four seasons), now it just looks like Juve wanting some cash for the Ronaldo deal.

Chancel Mbemba is going to Porto for €8m. Merino for £13m back to Spain & Mitrovic for £20m to Fulham will be done soon. Then we get the TV money sometime mid-July.

Grabban in for a medical tomorrow after Birmingham had a sniff late.
Byram on loan from West Ham was agreed a while back when they bring in another defender.
Karanka wants Colback to return but that's pretty much a non starter unless Newcastle pay him to leave which seems unlikely given Ashley.

Andriy Yarmolenko is in Switzerland having a medical with West Ham.
Lucas Torreirato is having a medical at Arsenal.
Barcelona, have signed midfielder Arthur from Gremio for £35 million (and inserted a £355 million buy out clause).
Hull City have signed winger David Milinkovic from Geneva.
And have agreed a fee with West Ham for Reece Burke who is having his medical at the club.

Newcastle United have rejected a bid of £20m, rising to £25m, from West Ham for their captain and centre back Jamaal Lascelles
Not surprised, will be more like £35m before Ashley considers it. He’s good, but not that good. I’d take £30m+, and be quite happy to sell.

Both the above have now been confirmed.
Southampton are close to completing the signing of Angus Gunn from Manchester City for £13.5 million.
Real Madrid and Juventus have agreed a £105 million fee for Ronaldo, it's expected to be confirmed in the next couple of days, if not today.

Re: Ongoing Transfers thread
As I put earlier, think this is a good move for everyone.
Juventus get that star player to help move more merchandise, and gives them that x factor.
Ronaldo gets a new set of fans to worship him, and a new challenge.
Real get to start again, and build a new side the shape the manager wants, with one less problem.
But agree, Real have got the better end. A lot will depend on who they bring in. If it's Mbappe then Real will be laughing.
Be interesting to see how Ronaldo fits into a team that's not built for him.

When did Juve become players in the transfer market? Blew £75m on the woeful Higuain last summer. Now blown £105m on a 33 year old. Prior to that their only relevance was stealing Pogba from Ferguson

Any team where Higuain can score better than a goal every two games will see Ronaldo succeed in abundance.

Re: Ongoing Transfers thread
Exactly. Juve haven’t been disappointed in Higuain. He has scored 40 in 70 odd games for Juve, named MVP for the last two seasons at Juve, and helped them win two Serie A titles, and two, Coppa Italia’s.
Ronaldo will ruin the Serie A, it’s just a question of whether his presence is enough, to make a step in the CL. Given Juve are having a clear out of Buffon, Sturaro, Alex Sandro and others, they will make a huge chunk of money back anyway.

Spent a bit of time on loan in Germany. Few German clubs want him, he didn’t seem to want to come back to West Ham, there are question makes over his attitude but that’s also linked to his agent and his relationship with the club.

Re: Ongoing Transfers thread
I'm not sure Madrid got the better end. I mean, Ronaldo had what? 44 goals in 42 games? His last three champions league runs had 43 goals in 38 games. I know he cant quite go on those maizey dribbles anymore, but goals win games and he'said historically great at scoring. If I'm Real, I'd be worried that I'm taking a great player who might be a little off his peak but not shown anything to suggest he won't be elite in the next 2-3 years and replacing him with someone who might not be as great. There's a saying in basketball that you don't break a dollar into four quarters, ie don't sell one great player for a collection of lesser parts, which is what I'm sure Perez is planning on.

Re: Ongoing Transfers thread
Good move for Real and Ronaldo. Juve have surely paid too much.
Yes, Ronaldo is a brilliant athlete and goes to great lengths to boost the longevity of his career, but he's got about 2 seasons left at the top level. 3 maximum.

Re: Ongoing Transfers thread
They have not paid too much tho. Their value has literally gone up $200 million since rumours of a Ronaldo transfer started. He'll pay for himself. Most teams only get one, maybe 2 chances at Championsome league glory in a generation. If Ronaldo can get them over the hump once in the next two-three years, he'd be worth it both on and off the field

Re: Ongoing Transfers thread
It only is an odd choice for Ronaldo, but even then it’s only down to your (and in this case, my) opinion of the Italian league. He less likely to win a Balloon Door there, the standard and their standing are both lower.
But it’s a slower pace still and he wants to play for a long while yet. Good preservation for his career. And they wanted him, whereas sooner or later Madrid were gonna be forced to push him out to get their new galacticos

Southampton,
Have signed defender Jannik Vestergaard.
Huddersfield,
Have signed Erik Drum from Borussia Dortmund.
Brighton,
Are close to a £17.5 million deal for midfielder Yves Bissouma from Lille's.
Chelsea,
Jorginho is in London for a medical before a £57 million deal.
If Liverpool sign Shaqiri, it's believed this will trigger another 3 moves. With Matt Ritchie going to Stoke, Andros Townsend going to Newcastle, and Michail Antonio going to Palace.

Hazard is a player who has always come across as someone who is happy in the comfort zone, and perhaps doesn't quite push himself to be the absolute best he could be. I can't imagine he will get away with that at Madrid.

Doubtful that Madrid see Hazard as a direct replacement for Ronaldo. Sense it’s more Hazard pushing for this move, and Madrid are keeping their options open.
