Don't think it will be this summer. Most of the big sides have a dm, but do think.next year when ferndinho contract runs out, he could head there.

Manchester United looking likely to sign French sensation Eduardo Camavinga. The 18 year old is out of contract in the summer. Rennes willing to let him leave for €30m, which is ridiculously cheap.

Danny Ings turns down new contract at Southampton, and wants to move on. Problem is, not sure anyone decent will touch him, given his injury record.

He has played 100 games for Southampton over three seasons, it would appear his injury worries are behind him.

I don't think I could cope with a window of Sancho and then potentially Varane and Camavinga. Seems far too competent for United especially if they all come in for around 150m combined.
I'd love to see it, but will be very surprised if it all happens

Chelsea panic buy in September written all over him. Abraham and Giroud to leave and if they fail to get a top tier striker, I can see them doing it.

PSG looking to complete move for Pogba, €80m valuation but I doubt he’d cost more that €60m.

Barcelona and Atlético working on a swap deal which would see Griezmann return to Atletico and Saul go in the opposite direction.
No wonder Barcelona are financially crippled. They paid €120m for Griezmann and he is on a reputed €880,000 per week.

Marc Guehi to Palace for £15m.
Brighton are about to sell Ben White for £50m after one decent Prem season after a Championship loan.

Chelsea's approach to their youngsters continues to baffle - Guehi and Tomori going for a combined £40m is madness, especially when you consider Silva is old!

Silva, Christensen, Rudiger, Azpi - all out of contract in 2022. I get Guehi only has two years left so if you sell you need sell now, but the fact they couldn’t convince him of a path forward with the above contract situations is a sign it is back to the bad old days for the Chelsea Youth. Can’t wait to sign some generic Spanish centre back for £50m.
I’ll console myself with the fact that Levi Colwill, on loan at Huddersfield, is meant to be the best of the young CBs. Till Villa buy him for £10m this time next year after a great loan.

Sounds like Chelsea are going to get Jules Kounde from Sevilla for £68m.
Would imagine that means at least one of Zouma/Rudiger/Christensen leaves. A 5’10 CB in the PL… we will see I guess.

West Ham take Areola on loan, reported £1.7m fee and £11m to buy. Delighted with that.
Now linked with Zouma, but at £20m, apparently short of valuation. Not sure on Zouma, one of those who can be brilliant or awful.

What a waste of money, but I suppose it doesn't matter when City have an infinite supply of funds.

Re: Ongoing Transfers thread
Also as Purslow says, if this day came they would have a plan. Was never their intention to replace Jack with one player. Strategy to breakdown his attributes and replace him with the three players we have signed in Bailey Bueindea and Ings. 3 good signings.
Still need a couple more.
Tuanzebe looks close and another midfielder I’d say.

Tbf, City barely had to push themselves financially for this deal. The sale of Sane, Otamendi, Angelino, Nmecha, and the sell on fee for Sancho, has pretty much covered it. Grealish is overrated, but I think he’ll do a decent job.
I don’t think City will massively improve, or go to the next level, until they’ve signed Haaland, probably next summer.

Re: Ongoing Transfers thread
Haaland wouldn't take City to the next level, I don't see how he fits into that side. He's a goalscorer yes but his all round link up play isn't good enough for their style.

Re: Ongoing Transfers thread
Why didn't Messi stay at Barcelona?
I keep reading how they paid his medical bills when he was younger and had him on their books since he was 13. He is reportedly worth over £400 million, so money should not be a problem for him.
Even if Barcelona couldn't pay him big money, he could still top up his wages through sponsorship and endorsement deals. He would truly be a legend to Barcelona fans if he stayed there and helped them to recover from their current financial problems, but no, he is reportedly leaving them for PSG.
To me, although a great player, he's still a typical football player, just looking for money.

Barcelona can’t register anyone they are above the salary cap. Garcia, Aguero, Wijnaldum and Depay are still awaiting clearance.
Retaining Messi even if he played for free wouldn’t solve their problems underlying issues.
Sometimes it’s better to separate.

Re: Ongoing Transfers thread
Maybe Barcelona wouldn't be having such financial problems if it wasn't for Messi's previous wage demands. Sure, he's not the only player making a lot of money but I'm finding all of his tears and sorrow at leaving Barcelona a little bit disingenuous.
Like I said previously he's a great player but F#*K him and all these players who screw their clubs over.

Re: Ongoing Transfers thread
Payed what they're worth? We'll have to agree to disagree. I think that quite few of these players are paid too much for what they do, but it's OK I guess because it's the fans that are the ones who pay for it in the end not the owners and deservedly so if they believe all the crap that they get told by players...."I have been a fan of this club since I was a boy" etc.Good Golly I'm Olly wrote:Yeah damn those players getting paid what they’re worth, justice for the corrupt billionaire owners and clubs!
The more the players want, the more shirt prices go up, the more ticket prices go up and the more TV companies charge fans to watch a game or for their sports packages.
Anyway, that's me done with this subject for the day. I'm not going to be moved or waste my time feeling sorry for a footballer who's worth £400 million, who's now probably going to another club to make millions more.

Messi did come across as a right tool but then again we're talking about a player and club who played the system so that he could dope as a teenager. If he truly cared as the fake tears are meant to suggest he'd play for a massive pay cut but predictably he doesn't care quite that much.
