Which golfers are worth following on Twitter?
Be_the_ball wrote:I just got a laugh out of Eddie's reply
Saw this, and thought who else might be worth following on Twitter in the golf world? I have given up Rose and McIlroy as all they seem to do are product endorsements.
I follow Poulter, Westwood, David Lynn (doesn't post much lately), Nosferatu and GMac. (Might unfollow him soon.) So just started with Pepperell.
Anyone else amusing or worthwhile?

I follow Pepperell and that caddy Crunchy Pete following his player's win the other week.
Occasionally have a shufty at others but the big boys (so to speak) are corporate gash and appear in the main to be run by the management company.
Nick Dougherty has some decent posts, I imagine David Howell might be OK.
@Darth_Monty is a parody account and can be amusing but I don't follow, just dip in and out occasionally.
I don't follow much but Pepperell's one of the better ones.

Ha ha.
It's where you find out what Ed Sheeran had for breakfast, and thousands of people read it and then argue about how breakfast is for satan then the vegans jump in defending cat pictures before anonymous hate fuelled men respond with how good the 1970's were for tennis compared to haggis.
But some people are funny.
Not often though.
It's like the "anything goes" thread but with more posting.

Haha exactly Roller
INW I tend to subscribe to a number of golfers on YouTube, there are a bunch of lads from Bolton that have a great laugh, GolfVlogsUK they don't take themselves too seriously. I used to follow Crossfield before he disappeared up his own backside.

Thanks BTB. There is one golf pro I look in occasionally on YouTube. He does reviews etc. Did one with a illegal length driver and another with an illegal golf ball. He keeps it light.

I like Bad Golf on youtube. Couple of comedians, who play bad golf. So very much like the vast majority of golfers. Its pretty good.

Pepperell is by far the best to follow that I know of. The general rule seems to be the more successful the player is the more dull they’ll be. Justin Thomas maybe a bit more interesting than most of the top ten or fifteen I think. I follow Roberto Castro and Zac Blair from the lower reaches of the PGA Tour. Away from current players Tony Johnstone and Denis Pugh are worth following.

Agree about Tony Johnstone, by far the best and most interesting that I've seen. Across so many different interests as well.

Every one to their own.At present I'm totalling consumed by Brexit so no time for other distractions.
Good pal of mine must spend half his life on social media looking at what Gary Lineker said and did.We sit in the pub and his phone is on the table next to his beer -strange old world now.

Definitely Eddie Pepperell, and his regular more detailed blog as well. Both of them very entertaining and his blog shows his depth of intelligence which is far beyond that of most of his fellow professionals!

No idea Dyna, but try this link to his latest blog - I’m sure you’ll find it interesting and you can look back on others. I’ll warn you, the language gets a bit fruity at times

Re: Which golfers are worth following on Twitter?
There's deluded goons at the St.Andrews clubs who run twitter accounts as if they are pro golfers. They're pretty funny to read, but not in an interesting way, but in a way to see how self obsessed people are. It's meaningless club golf, like a Sunday League Footballer tweeting as if he were Lionel Messi.

Are you gonna give us some links to their accounts so we can sample them?

As sad as their accounts are Mac, I couldn't trust you not to abuse them with your parody Jeremy Bear account.

Re: Which golfers are worth following on Twitter?
I don't know if anyone saw Eddie Pepperell's tweet regarding his first competitive round at the Masters.
"Surreal day today. Not only playing Augusta for the first time but having Fred Couples come over to me and tell me I’m one of his favourite golfers. Fred Couples! The George Clooney of golf, telling the Brad Pitt of golf how much he admires him. It’s pretty "flipping" sweet."

Chris Ryan golf on YouTube, very good instruction. Him, Dan Whittaker and "Me and My Golf" would be about the best for game improvement imo.

Re: Which golfers are worth following on Twitter?
Is twitter a daily part of people's lives? I don't really pay it any attention other than to check if courses are open in winter, other than that I can't really see the point, certainly for ordinary people who usually have nothing interesting to say.

I'm surprised to hear that Super, I'd assumed that's where you'd been radicalised.

I think it was 4chan where super picked up most of his weird conspiracy nonsense.
