10 points for picking correct winning team

0 points for more than one rung off winning margin but you still get 10 points for the win.
0 points for a 'No Result'.

Blimey...I thought if Bangladesh managed to run that total down I'd be sure to get full points : never thought they could win with 8 overs and 7 wickets to spare !
Never mind ...I've caught Robbo .........for now. But with ten points between four of us things are pretty tight. Could be some big swings anyway over the next couple of weeks so the table might be totally different come the knockouts.
At least this competition gives the inhabitants of 606 v2 plenty of interest even if the final four is looking increasingly settled...

Yeah I dont know why i didnt have today down as my golden goose ... I think part of me was fearing that England would get in a mess against these "mystery spinners". Also the assumption that they would rest and rotate. All in though it was daft logic.

I think it's easier to get a "thrashing" batting first than batting second. You could bowl a side out for 200 then make 201-2 off 35 (which England were near enough on in their 397) but that's not a thrashing. Which is why I didn't pick it for this one.

But yeah, this one will be a thrashing now, absolutely no doubt in my mind.

If you flip the innings and Afghanistan set 247-8, England got that 2 down with more 10 overs to spare. Would have been designated "Easy" but not a "Thrashing".

Yeah theres a slight issue with some of the bandings to be sure. But this was not the game to be picking an easy!

I think there's also an element that by going "Easy" you have margin of error either way to still pick up five extra points, so it's a safer play than going "Thrashing".

But when you're as far back as I am, playing safe isn't going to get it done

In other words; both Semis would be mandatory Golden matches for everyone... and the Final a Super Golden match; 30 points the for win; 30 points for the correct margin and 15 points for one rung off for everyone. Thoughts?
