What's going to happen this year? Your predictions.

Well, what are your hopes, dreams and predictions for next year?
I've gone for some obvious predictions.
I think Rory will win a Major - but maybe not The Masters. Tiger will win a (more) tournament(s) - but not a Major.
Major winners - random order - Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy, Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele
(I've already gone to the bookies for The Masters and put money on the last two and Tony Finau).
Europe to get soundly beaten in the Ryder Cup.

On a personal note, I would like to get my name on an honours board at my club. But I think that's less likely than any of the above.

I reckon there are five Majors this year (six if BJ is forced to call an election) and I'd be thrilled with your choices so long as Drumpf lost in November. (And your Europe prediction went arse over t1t.)

On a personal note, I'd love to return to breaking 100 on a decent course . . . . . . . . . probably less likely than any of the above.

Can't see Trump losing Kwini. Just as in the UK there's no opposition.

Golf wise I'd like to see an away victory in the Ryder Cup, see Rose win The Masters and on a personal level get down to scratch, which is very close right now.

Why would Boris be forced to call an election? He's got the biggest majority in decades and the most useless opposition in history, and given that Labour are likely to get a new leader who is Corbyn in a skirt then Johnson won't have to do much at all to stay in power. Labour are doing their best to stay out of power.

Liverpool will go on a terrible run and loose 6 games on the trot before sacking Klopp and appointing Mark Lawrenson and Gary Lineker as joint managers.
My hip will by a miracle mend itself and I will go on to win the club championship.
Ouch Ive just fell out of bed and woke up !

Interesting note that one of Man City's youngsters this weekend had two grandfathers (and think Pardoe was a cousin as well) playing in the same Man City Cup Final team (and about 400 other games I should think).

Back before Liverpool was a selling team.

Not to mention Munich is a hell of a lot nicer than Liverpool and has far fewer scousers.

What? The bit-part player at Barca who, when he looks in the mirror, knows he wasted his time there and barely earned those medals? Sure; I imagine he's overjoyed. Still, he could have done worse and stayed at Liverpool under that sour-faced dinosaur manager, Klopp, and been a central part of a Champions' League winning side, a winner of the Club World Cup, an imminent Premier League winner and, possibly, one of the catalysts for long-term Liverpool success? I'm sure the money he's 'made' is some compensation...

Though, playing devils advocate. If Coutinho had stayed, lfc may not be in the same position. Didn't the 142m received get used to buy vvd and salah the same summer, with some left over for fabinho.

Fair points .

Not sure either Coutinho would have fit into the current LFC playing style. Too much of a luxury player. His departure may have turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

For these guys the money is probably like p!ssing in the pants. Feels good at the beginning. But at the end of the day they already earn so much that a few mils extra won't make much of a difference anyway. And he probably could have negotiated a decent raise at LFC had he wanted to stay.

What matters are trophies and international success. And don't think Coutinho has yet achieved what he dreamt of. Honestly, a Spanish title with Barca is like a Scottish title with Celtic or Rangers (back in the day) - and a German title with Bayern is like stealing candy from little children.

My prediction for the year is that Super gets down to scratch and invites me for a round on TOC.



And there will be a global coronavirus pandemic which wipes out a large part of the golf season.
