I say tentative but it should have been more of a prodding fist because, as you know, I can never really be an official fist due to my antipodean time zone. So Galts, you are the real fist mate.
Effing freezing overnight here during the weekend (for us) but I'm not really shocked to see it's going to be 25, 26 and 27 degrees C towards the end of the week.

Big Bang! We had a creator that killed everything on Earth barring 1 dude, his wife, 3 sons and 7 of some animals and 2 of the rest for some reason.
And we still went to school.

Should watch the full movie if you get a chance. A bit dated now but it was quite captivating when I first saw it. Talking about rain... and imagery.
- Spoiler:
Full movie here... need to rewind it a bit.

Morning Rick.
The lawyer in it spends most of the time in the pouring rain.
Queried a phone bill today and got a huge reduction in my monthly charges. Makes you wonder why they didn't offer me the same thing a lot earlier. Went into the shop rather than go online or over the phone... seems to be the best tactic when the competitor's store is in the same shopping centre.

My phone bill stays fairly static TBH, i also have my dad put on my contract as he is now using an internet ready mobile, and is still convinced that if you send someone a picture you need to re-mortgage the house.
I am kinda hoping he goes over so i can give him a b0ll0cking over the bill and get some of my own back.

My dad's gone from ranting and raving about how pointless text messaging is (saying how if you've got something to say then talk to the person) to communicating almost exclusively by text and whatsapp, his messages generally contain more emojis than words.

My mum went through that phase, however she stopped when she found out she was sending a sarcastic emoji rather than a smiling emoji.
Hilarity ensued.

I used to walk past people with mobile phones and mouth 'w*nker' or 'kn*bhead'. That was back in the early 90s, when the people using mobile phones were w*nkers and kn*bheads.

Exactly... ha ha.
Yes, it's heating up nicely. Warm on the weekend they say. Chilly now at night though.
There's already bushfire warnings and arguments about how they should have cleared some of the new growth since the last fires. There was a nice ironic photo I saw the other day of some heavy snow on the burnt black tree branches. You can never win with the weather extremes here...

If i have learnt anything from watching "Outback Truckers" it's that Australian weather is either 40 degrees plus, or absolutely p155ing it down, and nothing inbetween.

"Outback Truckers"... lol.
Was nearly killed by one with my Dad in '86 but all is forgiven since we survived.
This happened just north of Canberra in a place called Collector. (really!) That road has long since been bypassed by the new motorway now.
Going on a bit of a road trip myself in about 3 weeks time... before it gets too hot. Going up to Moree in the New England region, then back down to Narrabri in the central west. Might pop into Parkes after that on the way home to check out the intermodal facilities being built for the inland rail.

For some reason, Mrs Dagless is obsessed with the show and watches it every day, it is usually on when i'm cooking (she can't cook for shizz) Though it does drive home (pun intended) how f**king big Oz is, and your road trip would possibly constitute several laps of Britain.

Re: Music Section Morning Tea Society
Actually Narrabri is still in NE (going through there too) but I meant Narromine which is west of Dubbo... the Hub of the West.
That still makes me laugh.
Then heading south through Tomingley, Peak Hill (near The Dish - which beamed back pictures of the moon landings) before reaching Parkes.
Might also come back via Cowra - the scene of the Japanese P.O.W. breakout in 1944. There are some nice memorial gardens there now.
Did a quick measure, Rick. Roughly 1600 km or a shade under 1000 miles. 4 days, 3 nights.

Oz is far too big for its own good. Did both the Indian Pacific and the Ghan rail journeys a couple of times and they both lasted longer than a German opera! Only realised what I'd let myself in for when it took 15 hours to get from Sydney to Broken Hill (Broken Hill is still in New South Wales).
