SURREY VS SUSSEX T20 VITALITY BLAST Empty SURREY VS SUSSEX T20 VITALITY BLAST

SURREY HAVE NAMED A 13-MAN SQUAD THAT ARE IN CONTENTION FOR WEDNESDAY’S VITALITY BLAST CLASH WITH SUSSEX SHARKS AT THE KIA OVAL.
Gareth Batty, who so far has acted as captain in Jade Dernbach’s absense, misses this match with a hamstring injury. Sad Sad Laurie Evans also drops out of the side that has remained unchanged during Surrey’s recent impressive run, due to an agreement between Surrey & Sussex when Evans moved to The Kia Oval on loan.
Jade Dernbach is absent with a groin injury and all-rounder Jordan Clark with foot and ankle injuries.
FULL SQUAD:
Hashim Amla
Gus Atkinson
Scott Borthwick
Rory Burns
Rikki Clarke
Matt Dunn
Ben Foakes
Will Jacks
Daniel Moriarty
Jamie Overton
Liam Plunkett
Jamie Smith
Reece Topley
The news of batty injury is devastating even at 42 he still one of our best bowlers in this format.
Matt Dunn will do the Burger van role Wink so with the oval pitches being slow for this competition I would assume Borthwick will play.
So out of Clarke or Plunkett for the last spot, Maybe Plunkett gets the nod but could go either way.
Over to you chaps thumbsup

Cheers, JimBob.

The squad and the team look a lot weaker without Batty and Evans. Borthwick is not a proper replacement for either and yet he's very likely to play. I'll guess that the last spot goes to Clarke.

Good to see both Clarke and Plunkett were excellent with the ball clap clap
Might be the end of Atkinson for this campaign.

Think you guys might have signed a good batsman who can bowl a bit in Jamie Overton!

Proper lower order biffage. Sorely lacked in the white ball sides in recent years

New Azhar Mahmood? Smile

JOve does need a wicket though. Surrey analysis in all formats is currently 0/195. That said, not too worried atm. Expect 1 wicket to lead to 2 etc.
