Also glad you guys are not Paoli Rossi. I'm sure a place could have been found for him in the Villa side even when your boys were at their peak in the early '80s, Galted!

I wouldn't get too worried, Jules. Rossi made his final run into the box yesterday whilst most of this Music crew were still harping on.

Good as he was he was never more than a poor man's Peter Withe. Could probably have played him in a few league cup matches though.

Apologies, forgot to clarify that I'm not him.
Tino has a portal into the afterlife so perhaps he could find out if Rossi was one of us.

Just gave way to an ibis crossing the T-intersection between the butcher and the chemist. At least it kept moving constantly and stayed dead centre of the stripes. More manners than some people.

Pretty sure I saw an Osprey last week but it is very late for them to still be here. Normally migrated to Africa by now.
It wasn't crossing the road, it was flying over the fields.

Bear in mind that peej is now heavily monitored by the Ozzie police state, and i would imaging our ramblings will be at the top of their agenda.

Why is he being monitored?
I thought he was looking at those specialist sites for "research"?

Everyone is being monitored over there, even the kiddiwinks.
And that research was valid, i think.

It's a police state paradise here.
We have this understanding that I have to keep up to a certain agreed standard of punning and impromptu, irreverent off-the-cuff remarks. Otherwise some nerd-boffin in an undisclosed monitoring bunker hesitates on his next crab-flavoured Pringle... as the glow from his flat screen reflected on his oversized spectacles intensifies. It's hard work to keep this up I tell you. Sometimes I even wonder why I bother.
Apparently there won't be any warning when they 'drop in' to have a little chat and I'll probably have some explaining to do - I'd imagine.

I'm not Sunday's Brexit deadline. Although I am dead. But really dead. It was a deadline, but not a real deadline. Just a line. Which they moved. So it isn't dead.
JLC is really dead though. Which is infinitely sadder than Brexitdeadlines being moved.

Any interesting anecdotes from around your way? Saw something on Greenwich and a new covid strain but thought it probably wouldn't apply to you. You're way too clever for any mutants.

Not quite, PJ, though my 50th is looming.
Not surprised about the new strain, lockdowns don't seem to apply in Greenwich. I think the mutations have been aided by alcohol and the cold.
The borough seems to sum up the UK's approach to Covid - the council decided to close schools down from tomorrow because of the spike and the government have said they're to stay open. I'm sure it depends on how much your kids annoy you as to whether they'll be at school for the rest of the week or not.

Don't let Jules see that apostrophe... unless of course you are referring to the fist of notcherino.
How are you handling it all? I get a little depressed watching the UK news. I can't imagine how people keep their heads up. Hope you're coping well.

I know its miles away from you, PJ, but someone offered me a job in Perth once. Years and years ago. It is a small regret I have that I didn't take it. Just wasn't the right time with kids etc etc.
I could have spent my Christmas searching for, and running away from, venomous creatures. You and I could have been pen pals.

We're pretty much pen pals now, Tino.
I was just taking a slash before... keeping an eye out for any potential intruders... looking at the ceiling and cornices because that's where you usually see them. I have a screen on the window but these things always seem to find a way inside.
It was all clear up there but when I looked down I spotted this centipede-like creature.
Sort of like a slim beetle with articulated segments and claw like features. It looked confused and was obviously trying to find a way out. Picked it up with some tissue paper and took it outside. Gave the tissue a shake. Then came back inside to put the tissue in the bin but just before I got back inside though the door I heard a sound like a pebble falling at my feet. It was the critter... must have clung on despite the shake. Anyway, last I saw of it - it was heading towards the dark dampness of the slotted drain.
Something like this - an Australian Earwig. Nice pincers!

One of the reasons we don't have too many poisonous spiders, particularly around houses is because of our giant house spiders. I know they aren't much compared to the really big guys but they are big enough

LiW - although I am delighted you've joined us, there are a couple of ground rules.
1) never look Galted direct in the eye
2) never describe venomous arthropods as poisonous.
Other than that, welcome aboard.
