It is a classic, and as mentioned, i prefer the 990, as your name pops on the Music frontpage.

Ouch, had no idea such a person existed.
Was going to suggest that being a Culture Cup C*nt would be just the kickstart his career needs but I see the poor bugger's dead.
Sounds like an excellent new CC. The Culture C*nt? The C*nture Cup?

That's a good idea actually. We could each nominate 5 or so c*nts and have a knock-out.

Clearly perfect for Tino to run, for obvious reasons. Wonder if it’ll work though, his nomination will put him in a difficult position.

Have one for me and for Philip and for a friend.... and his dog.
That sounds really good, Galted.
Down at my local (about 400m away) I always have a good chat with the owner and get on really well with him. I've used him to sign a few Stat Decs - since he's a JP. He always says "What can I get you?" and when I reach for the wallet and about to pay he always says "This one's on the house".

I guess the downside is that some of the other patrons are very rough types... middle-aged tradies with shaggy beards. Covered in ugly tatts...
Their conversation usually goes thus:
"Anyway... I get the f'kn ute there and she f'kn says to me... what'r'ya f'kn parking there for, mate? I f'kn say - just show us yer f'kn laundry... and when we f'kn get there (it's in the f'kn basement) there's all this f'kn water every-fk'n-where. And all the f'kn pipes are all fk'n rusted through.
And when I go to f'kn move, she f'kn says to me: where do ya f'kn think you're going?
To get me f'kn tool box... what'd'ya f'kn think!"

Read that as middle-aged trannies at first.
Conversation sounds mesmerising, pubs round my place are either full of tourists trying fish and chips for the first time or locals moaning about how the tourists push up the price of fish and chips.

When I heard that particular exchange the other week I thought of you guys... and what you'd think of it. I was trying hard not to snort my beer and thinking: this is the real Australia people haven't heard about. And don't get me started on the women... I think most of them are fresh out of jail.
Noticed too; there's a few Chinese 'tough types' there too now. Outside drinking heavily, ashtray overflowing with butts and also covered in tatts. Speaking rough Cantonese though. One even wore a "NSW Toohey's New" (beer brand) T-shirt. He's obviously assimilated well into 'our community'!

We have quite a few what I thought were Chinese in the streets around Greenwich/Woolwich, but turns out they're Nepalese. Mostly ex-soldiers who don't get enough of a pension to live independently and are forced to stay in house shares, the landlord kicking them out during the daytime hours so he or she can have the house to themselves.

Re: Music Section Morning Tea Society
Just to add. One the other side of the pub it's a completely different world.
In the dining area it's full of large Polynesian families. The kids are so huge! The women are huge. Not hard to see why. They probably go there every day to eat. The portions are massive and relatively cheaper than your average pub menu. $13.80 (£7.80) for a standard meal and $3.60 (£2.00) for a large coke... they never drink beer.
I often struggle to get through it all. The schnitzel is so large it's folded over. You spend the first 5 minutes just sawing through the top 'fold' just to make some space on the plate - to see what's under there... usually a sea of chips (although I ask for boiled rice mostly). As for the salad; it's like a week's worth of lettuce, cucumber, tomato and finely sliced red onion with dressing... quite nice and fresh... but there's so much of it.
I always say to the girl when I'm ordering "just half of your usual salad, thanks" (only about 3 days worth) but I always get a blank look and when the buzzer goes off I can see the plate with a mountain of food on the counter waiting for me.

I can imagine.
I'm literally slap bang in the middle of Sydney now; which was part of the 'social experiment' I undertook in 2013 when I decided to move out of the cushy and more affluent north shore. I was getting too soft I felt. In one way, the move was a very brave one and it's more like the real suburbia of Sydney. Some things are more enjoyable but there are also some downsides of course... but I'm becoming more immune to those things.
The northern and beaches suburbs are somewhat more closed (by both environmental and social snobbery metrics) and the cost of living is about 3-5 times more expensive on average. Some places are 20 times more expensive in terms of real estate. If you go to a pub there, a good steak with the usual accompanying sides can cost anywhere from between $25 to 45 (£14 to 25)... and you get much less. Beers can be very expensive there too.
When I first moved here a schooner (2/3 of a pint) was $2.90 (£1.63). However now they are $6.50 (£3.66) down at the local (when I have to pay).
In the posher eastern and northern suburbs and city centre they are about $8.50 to 9.50 (£4.80 to £5.35) and even more for some 'boutique' beers.

I read the original and thought it sounded about as intelligent and intelligible as the current Lions selection debates.
When I lived in Swansea there was this thing about the Valley commandos coming down to town for the nightlife. Typically characterised by the muscles and tats, and that was just the women.

Did everyone else read that in an Aussie accent? Makes all the difference.

I'm not Jimmy Lai.
Hopefully that will ease the minds of everyone other than Rick, who doesn't care.

12 months is a long time. I was worried he'd get more for 'treason'.
That other guy, Lai Xiaomin of China Huarong Asset Management, who had the "3 Hundreds" (more than 100 suites, more than 100 related persons, and more than 100 mistresses) was not so lucky.

Reminds me of a joke the neighbouring kids told me way back in the late 70s. It may (or may not) appeal to you as a teacher, Flipper.
