Morning, all
I work in historic Cheshire every day, although I get to pretend it is in fact Greater Manchester

Got some great memories of Warrington as a young man. Girls were easy anyway. If that counts.
Just had a quick read through the Euro thread from last night. Just reminded me why I rarely bother with professional football. It must attract more d*ckheads per square mile than any other walk of life.
Duty, Just John and Ozzy leading the way but my god there are some morons on there.

Re: Music Section Morning Tea Society
First I knew of the results was when I heard the local fans chanting 'its coming home' out in the streets. Very happy for the team but personally find watching football boring.
Also a little concerned as to what will happen post final. I remember coming out of a nightclub in Islington in the early hours on the night that Arsenal won the double. Garbage everywhere and burnt out cars - it looked as if there had been a riot.
I bet the Johnson variant is also celebrating...

I watched the match and I will watch the final, it is more the armchair pundits I find more amusing/d*ckheadish. And the strange self entitlement lots of them have despite England being roundly sh*t for generations.
Pretty sure if England win, the celebrations will be boisterous but safe. If Italy win, you can pretty much guarantee that some Italian restaurants will get smashed up. That is an absolute given.
Did hear something on the radio this morning that the demographic suffering the most with the Johnson Variant at the moment is young men. No sh*t. Wonder how that happened.
I couldn't go to my youngest kids sports day yesterday. But I could have nuzzled up next to a tw*t at Wetherspoons if I'd wanted to. The world is f*cking back to front at the moment.

I feel a bit self-conscious about giving one of Duty's posts a like now. I do find his sporting opinions a good read, and plagiarise some of them myself.
This is one of those occasions when I wish I was at work instead of wfh as the angry Kiwi must be in an absolute state of rage.

I did notice you liked his post. I am willing to assume you were in a state of excitement/drunk so will overlook it for now. I don't mind his general sporting opinions but he needs to get over the fact Southgate slipped his mum one. I guessing Gareth knows a little bit more about footy than Duty.
Soul Requiem killed him on a rugby thread the other day. Duty was wittering on about remembering England beating Uruguay in 2003 and no one complaining about the massive score. SR just said something along the lines of "you remember that that from when you were 8 years old". Duty replied but SR just walked away, chuckling one would assume. He didn't really need to reply, the point was made.
I don't have much in common with SR's general thoughts on the world, but it was a pretty hilarious slapdown of Duty and his, erm, inconsistent timeline.

What inconsistent timeline? Do people not remember things when they were 8 years old?

Oh hi Duty. Nice to see you.
Yep, but not that kind of thing. I've had four 8 year old kids pass through my parenting and another one currently residing there.
I'll ask him in 17 years if he remembers the press coverage from the Euros. I'll report back to you in 2038.
Do stick around though, we love new members here.

And I see. Also when I was 8, I remember England playing with 16 v Samoa for a bit, Campbell's disallowed goal, and Magdalen winning University Challenge. I'm odd like that.

Getting a bit tetchy on the Euros thread. Gets a bit confusing when England don't get knocked out on penalties.

Re: Music Section Morning Tea Society
Anyone see that second ball just outside the box before the penalty? I thought it was a stray party balloon at first... but no, there definitely was a second 'match' ball on the pitch. Should be more obstacles like that to make things even more interesting. I'd like to see the Cup glued down on the centre dot for the final.

Had ancestors in both... some near Compton.
Had a fantastic time in Cornwall a while ago. Simply loved Mevagissey and Mousehole. It was very warm when I was there. It sort of felt like Morocco with all the colourful boats in the harbour. St Ives was OK too.

We'd never find the body if Duty won... so many hidden caves along that Channel coast.
On the other hand, if Tino won... it would be death by a thousand needles and pins.

I hadn't realised that Duty was from the South. Proper South as well. I was way off.
As much as I love my new friend, there is no way I am losing a wedding fight to a southerner. I'll smash his face in.

I guess this shows that Julius was the alpha male and others are moving in onto his territory since his latest apparent death. Fair play to Tino for putting up a fight but for how long can he hold out?

Superfly has died again as well so I have a free run at the Alpha male slot.
Although I did (along with you, Galted to your credit. You must remember the old Culture Cup Rd 6 thread which was the precursor to this place? That was just you and I chatting sh*t for a few weeks) start this place so lets just show a little respect.

Does bring back poignant memories. Whoever would have thought that it would be such a hotbed of wedding dress chatter and Islamic extremism years down the line?
I sicond your claim to alpha maledom.

This place is a cultural hotbed. Non binary, transgender discussion thread that doesn't just pull statues down, it rebuilds them in our own image.

A statue of michaels eating chips off a bird's back could be used as a picnic table in a park.
