Golf content
Hi all,
Perhaps we could share our favourite golf content here?
For me its...
-Random Golf Club/Skratch. Erik Anders Lang guides us through weird and wonderful golf experiences.
-Rick Shiels. Very likeable host who plays some great courses with fantastic guests.
-Be Better Golf. Very in-depth look at the various aspects of golf theory. Guy called Brendan discusses various parts of the goof swing with top coaches in his quest to improve his game. Super interesting for the golf nerds out there.
-Paddy's Golf Lessons: Legendary champion Padraig Harrington provides helpful, accessible info on how to improve your golf.

Re: Golf content
I find most of them to be insufferable, especially the American ones.
A lot of the UK ones are very irritating too like the self obsessed delusional Peter Finch, Tubes and Ange, Me and my Golf etc.

I give the likes of Good Good a wide berth. Many social media personalities tend to have an annoying schtick, but there are some worthwhile channels out there.super_realist wrote:I find most of them to be insufferable, especially the American ones.

Have been enjoying this the last few days; the latest in RGC's "Breaking" series where Erik pits 3 amateurs of differing handicaps against various tough courses.

In general I try to avoid watching youtube golf content. Back when it first became popular about ten years or so ago I made the mistake of trying to incorporate advice seen in these videos into my swing. It turns out that non specific advice is pretty much useless.

I am big into impact position/shaft lean/lag tension at the moment. Its interesting, but I'm not sure if its of any practical help to my game. Plus I dont have high speed cameras to monitor the angles at impact.McLaren wrote:In general I try to avoid watching youtube golf content. I also follow Robo and also Prince Drac as he was known here. (Nosferatu or @VC606 on Twitter). He does a lot of posts along the lines of "X needs to finish in the top 5 to make it to the Masters" etc

Go to your pro. If they are a good one they will help you with something like that if you ask them.

Having said I try not to watch youyube instruction I have however come across a guy called Danny Maude recently. I wouldn't try to incorporate much if anything from youtube due to issues I had in the past but if I were to do so a guy like him seems like a sensible source. The videos of his I watched seemed to make sense and were more about some basic concepts than gimmick advice. I actually think the one thing you can learn from online stuff is some of the teaching/technique principles of the golf swing.

Re: Golf content
Really good suggestions here.
I also enjoy the discussions with GolfClubAtlas. Generally very civil and plenty of commentary for those in the business.
I've played numerous courses in the UK based upon some of their suggestions.

Nick Faldo seems to have a new series if interviews/podcasts on youtube & spotify. Nicklaus and Rick Shiels have guested so far.
He needs interview training, he keeps cutting across Jack, which is sacrelige.
Jack's memory is amazing, he churns out details like names of opponents he played when he was 13 and exact yardages of approach shots he had at the '86 Masters.

Jack went full Trump. Is it worth listening to anything he has to say now?

You seem to worship at Eldrick Woods' altar, and that notwithstanding his shagging around while married, use of epithets for disabled people, childish and misogynistic pranks etc etc.McLaren wrote:The golden bear. What a pathetic monicker.

Mist be lonely being you Mac if you can only be friends or like someone if you agree with them 100% on everything.
Typical display from a lefty, tolerance and inclusivity only goes one way. Cancel culture is based on such a premise.
